This isn't an "interview". It's a full blown film, and a FANTASTIC one at that!!! You've outdone yourselves, World Athletics. Please, please make more like this. I'm gonna go watch it again right now!
@@desquariusgreenjr.1032 Incorrect. You're thinking specifcally of "feature-length film". A FILM can be any length. There are entire categories of "SHORT films". A film is a film is a film. There is no length requirement. Similarly, there's no duration requirement for something to be called a video or a song.
Thanks for the inspo. I broke 3 university records the past two years, but then transitioning to a new team, I had a very slow season. I’m inspired it’s a setback and not the end of the story… ✨
Femke Bol is the best 400m hurdler of this century. It's not just the time or the place, it's her total dominance of the competition. No one was close to her. I don't think an athlete like her will come around for a long time.
@@danieldehart3320I'm looking forward to that too and whatever happens, happens, but she's been hiding for quite a while now. Like a true American, ignoring all the rest of the world, staying in her own cocoon...
@@chibwemasamo6750 No I believe Kersee wants her to continu her 400m project which has not been a happy end this year. So that said Sydney do have the oppertunity the challenge to win also Olympic Gold on the 400m that will make her the first atlete to win Olympic Golds at 400mh & 400m will be epic. Whatever Sydney & Kersee will choose it will be hard to get gold on 400mh or 400m. Femke is getting better and better and could be big problem if she further progresses and also Paulino was very strong at Worlds and will for sure progress on 400m flat. So good luck team Sydney with this tough decision. 😅
At first I was wondering why the 4x4 finale didn’t get more airtime here, but then Rob Walker’s great voice took over and everything resolved itself. That anchor spoke for itself.
@@-kabepugs3009 I'm too lazy to research the %s, but I'd presume more 🇳🇱 children learn English than the others for good reason (there are a billion of us anglophones out there--including 🇮🇳). Bol and Klaver knowing conversational English (Bol in particular is charming when her pitch rises after racing) definitely helps their international fandom.
A fantastic athlete. Soo friendly. She loose gold and she fighting Back an get gold . That’s a great thing millions off peoples on the world see her crying and laughing.she is a real fighter . Soooo respect foor that sympathy girls .I will hope she going to meat Sydney. Maybe to strong ??? For her. But the progress off Femke is so strong. If Femke get on the Olympics get a medal gold, silver or brons is fantastic for that little country holland .the same with estafette bronze is amazing. For athletics it’s amazing Netherlands 🇳🇱 made so progress. .I don’t think to gold but 1 silver and 1 bronze and maybe a surprise I am excited. Go for the Olympics 2024 girls and boys . I am gonna watch on tv so much as possible. I it’s to expensive to be there and my health is not strong to stay there longtime. Come on everyone 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💐💐💐💐☘️☘️☘️☘️
Be cool to see her dedicate a year to training for & running just the 400m, wanna see what she can fully achieve timewise in the event esp after running that 49.26 indoor WR!
Femke really loves the hurdles, so I don't see that happening any time soon ... Her immediate goal will obviously be to win Olympic gold in the 400mH and if she succeeds in that, my guess is she'll want to focus on the WR (not saying she can beat it, but she's definitely gonna try). After trying all that she might switch events (for a while) and the 400m flat would be the obvious choice, but after her indoor 500m WB she might have a go at the 800m some day ?!
@@_MicZ_ She ran a 49.44 PB/NR in the outdoor 400m in Aug '22, then came out of winter training in Feb '23 and destroyed the long-standing indoor 400m WR by running 49.26. That means there's so MUCH untapped potential in the flat 400m outdoors for her (easily sub 49s) similar to Britton Wilson who ran a new 49.48/49.13 in/outdoors PB in '23. I know Syd, Femke, Britton & Shamier all love the 400mH, but the W400m would be one of the most in demand tkts in the sport if those 4 plus Shaunae, Paulino, Naser, Kaczmarek, Klaver & Sada Williams all competed against each other for a couple of seasons!
@@AllInTheGame01 I totally agree with you that it would be amazing to see all those athletes in the 400m flat. All I am saying is that Femke has a preference for the 400mH and she still has some unfinished business there (Olympics, WR), so it's unlikely she'll switch any time soon.
@@QuamfyMarc On what Femke said in interviews, I would totally agree she's not going to try the 800m. However, in Athletics Weekly of December they interviewed Laurent Meuwly (her coach) and he believes her 500m indoor WB hints at another potential distance for her. He said: “I think she's also able to perform over 800m. She showed in Boston that she has this efficiency, and she's pretty good in all the endurance sessions because of it. I can imagine [the 800m] might also be an option.” Sure, it doesn't mean Femke herself has changed her mind, but it might mean she'll at least try the 800m sometime in the future...
Good film but strangely imbalanced. The two relay legs received scant footage. They should have been the focus. The video was so cramped at end I thought there was going to be a Part 2 focusing on the women's relay alone. It's like this film was planned beforehand and designed to spotlight the 400 hurdles alone. Then they patched together once the relays drama occurred.
Femke only has herself and her team to thank for winning all those races, breaking 2 world records and becoming a double world champion. Bol has stated many times she'd rather compete against Sydney, who she has much respect for, but Sydney made her choice(s) to focus on the 400m flat.
One is faster. The other is more respected and beloved because she is true to the sport all year long. Down the road somebody will be faster than Sydney. At that point she's lost everything. Bol will always own the admiration
Femke is still so young, and she doesn't have to thank anyone if that person isn't there. And that other person will only get slower and Femke will only get faster. But we'll see, I hope in Paris..
This video capture’s Bol’s calm, well-grounded and “comfortable in my skin” personality so well. She is one of the great athletic talents of this generation but wears her achievements and accolades so lightly. Remarkable woman!
Great video! It's just a shame the epilogue was so short, it was like an after thought. However, it was a hugely significant win, especially as it started with the relay and ended with a relay but a totally different result.
Surprised that the BBC commentary was so good. I can’t run as fast, but maybe I can aspire to speak Dutch as well as she speaks English Ik zal proberen dat te doen Hup Holland hup 🇳🇱🇳🇱
The best about her is her down to earth way and her humbleness. Then comes her team spirit and finally her class as an atlhete. We all should learn from her. ❤
thanks or this beautiful video of the incredi-BOL Femke : i really love the next sentences : "oh yes, oh yes , can you believe it? live sports cannot be beaten for drama!!"
Lets hope Sydney competes in the 400mH in Paris as it would be very interesting to see these 2 go head-to-head in 2024. Not sure who would win to be honest, but as a Dutch person I obviously have a bias for who I hope to win 🙂
