Mustangs are oddly good for mountain runs. I took me 06 GT to the blue ridge mountains a few years ago and had a blast rolling through and it handled the roads surprisingly well
Mustangs are still sports cars… it’s just compared to other sports cars like Audis or such they don’t handle as well around corners , still amazing cars and tons of fun

Yeah it will definitely be getting some bigger tires in the future. But the car did well for only being on 255’s. The front tires were definitely the limiting factor to the entire drive.

the 18+ coyotes take 10 qts of oil. The 15-17 cars had 8. Increased due to direct and indirect fuel injection. so if you only put 8 in you might wanna get some more.

FYI .. When your on the tail of the dragon or other smoky roads the double yellow line is a suggestion. If you got the power and room and you know your car you back shift and pass the slow guy in front of you. Like that Miata most courteous drivers pull over and/or slow down and yield to you when you come up behind them. Everybody has a good time, just at different speeds.
I wasn’t making fun of the Miata at all for being slow. I just find enjoyment in matching other people to cruise together. I expected him be faster than me considering he had originally came up behind me. After he moved out from in front of me I knew then that he probably did want want me behind him. I was just trying to have fun with another driver is all.
There’s some beautiful spots to pull off of at the start and the end. Right on the river. I lived about 40 min away from tail of the dragon in Maryville. There’s some beautiful nice swervy roads around that area in tennessee
@@Zorbii there’s a waterfall a little south of madisonville tn that would make an awesome picture. Maybe an hour from tail of the dragon. The river at the opposite end of the restaurant is a beautiful drive also
I loved the video, actually anybody's video of tail of the dragon makes my day. You car did great and sounded great. I drove my Miata alot on it for 2 months that I was there and loved it. Sorry about the ticket. I never got one but they didn't hear me coming!
I love how ppl come to this road with cocky attitudes like they gonna full on smoke this road but then actually gets smoked by the road lol! I live in Tellico Plains. We have the Cherohala skyway that leads to the tail of the dragon into robinsville and deals gap. I was raised on these roads and have seen these roads claim a bunch of lives! These roads are not meant to take lightly y’all! Especially if you drivin spiritedly!
One of my buddies dads knew a guy that lost his bike off the side of tail of the dragon and when insurance investigated it, they ended up leaving it because it was so high in a tree that they couldn't recover it. Apparently the tree is starting to grow around the bike
You should try out a pedal commander if you want to fine tune your cars throttle sensitivity on the fly, I have one on my 15 ZL1 (Manual) and it’s so nice to be able to go from smooth and almost laggy throttle response when you wanna chill to throaty and immediate response
I've gotten familiar with the throttle response now and it works fine. I'd just end up tuning the car down the road before doing a pedal commander most likely. It's not a bad idea but I probably wouldn't do it on my own vehicles

Did this in mine June 6 mostly stock (muffler delete only) a lot of screaming tires but from start to finish only would’ve ended up 1 or 2 full curves behind a gtr I came with without the other cars in the way(helped me catch up) started raining on the way back down gtr let me lead sub wires caught my back seat on fire AMAZING TIME 😂
that's the plan! You can always take a road course car to a strip but you can't take a drag car to a road course (at least not easily). I plan to have a build for every avenue of racing eventually.
@18:23 If you are pushing the brakes that hard, setting the parking brake is bad idea. The pads will leave an imprint on the rotor resulting in vibrations when the brakes are applied because an uneven amount of pad material was left behind.
@@Zorbii you’ll see “drum” brakes for electric parking brakes. Yours is cable actuated so my guess would be you are using the rear brake pads. Easy to find out…look where the cable is attached. If it’s attached to the caliper then you’ll know.
@@Zorbii after a bit of digging, since you have Brembos you should have the 4 piston calipers in the rear which means you should have a separate pad for the parking brake. Either way, for anyone else that doesn’t have a separate pad, it’s a good idea to refrain from using it after a hard session.
Out of curiosity... how much was that ticket? 😂 took my ‘19 RT Challenger up to the dragon last season and had a blast. Not the fastest but by far the smoothest handling and most comfortable road trip car I’ve ever driven. Love the Mustang vids 👌🏼

10 quarts* i have 305/35/20 r888r rears and 285/35/20 nitto nt555 g2 fronts and it’s a pretty big difference, i’ll eventually get stickier front tires to match the sticking power i’ve got out back
@@Zorbii you should try a lighter set, i have tech 7’s and i immediately felt the difference is rotating mass when just coasting and cornering, acceleration felt just a hair faster

They call themselves improving the merging process... I think that the other drivers just need to learn how first XD

@@Zorbii It happens to me with a decent amount of creators, its SUPER annoying. I have some people I have been subbed to with notifs on and have watched almost literally every video for YEARS, and I STILL won't get notifications for like half of the stuff they upload. It almost feels like they try to intentionally filter what they notify you about based on what they *think* you'll like, but the ENTIRE point of notifs is for me to see it and decide if I want to watch it lmao.

Correct. I was wrong in the video. For the 2018 they increased the capacity to 10qts. I thought it was the same as the Gen 2 coyotes. The more you know 🤷🏽♂️
@@Zorbii I suggest this only because you seem to enjoy how well it handles. Once you change the power band by a power adder. MY PREDICTION is that it won’t handle as well. I’m wanting a supercharger at the moment because the lesser amount of lag compared to turbo’s. I’ve been extremely happy with how the Z makes power in AutoX.
I think it’s because I don’t have as much time to work on each video. If I had more time available I would but trying to stick to a video a week is difficult. There’s literally just not enough time in each day.
You need to learn the road before you really drive it. Some of the driving in this video on the wrong day would kill a biker. You crossed to park. Just stopped in the middle. Then kept crossing the line. Those bikes come through so fast you can’t do that stuff.
I tried to be as careful as possible and keep those things you mentioned in mind. Like you said “on a different day”. If it would have been another day I wouldn’t have been so relaxed about it all.
