I sprained my thumb (skier’s thumb) about a week and a half ago, and the x-ray showed significant advanced arthritis. Although the swelling has gone down and I’ve been wearing a splint, I tried the exercises and the first stretch felt okay. The others hurt so I’m going to wait until the thumb isn’t hurting all the time to try the others. Thanks for the video. I liked and subscribed. 😊
I have psoriatic arthritis and it began depositing calcium in my inflamed finger joints starting to deform them, just like my mother and father had. Until I started taking standardized turmeric with bio-perine (black pepper) and then the hand pain stopped, and I lift weights 5x/wk pain free. It blocks inflammation and is a natural herb. Try curried rice or chicken, it's turmeric, a spice. Or just take the convenient capsules.
I never add comments, subscribe, or ring bells etc, but you are AMAZING! I usually try to wait out the pain all week and then take 2 Alleve on Saturday. You just fixed my thumb pain in 5 minutes. Thank you so much. I am forever in your debt.
Ok, I tried this and it worked immediately. I thought it must be a coincidence. After about a week of using these techniques when pain flared-up, I went back to the exercises and experienced immediate relief. I typically am a sceptic and hesitate to write recommendations but, credit where credit is due. Thanks to Michelle for sharing these techniques. What a relief!!
Thank you so much. I'm a seamstress and get terrible pain in my right thumb from using scissors etc. These exercises gave me almost instant relief and allowed me to carry on working. You're amazing! ❤
Discovering videos featuring practical advice like this is one of the many reasons I love YT. I tried these simple exercises and was amazed at the relief from the severe pain in both thumbs. I can always hear the joints grinding when rotating my thumbs but that seems to be reduced as a result. No matter how temporary this might be it is a blessed relief from that gnawing pain that can really drag down my mood.. Thank for sharing these simple yet effective tips.
Wow, that was interesting. I have no idea how RU-vid knew I had a bit of arthritis in my thumb but your video suddenly came up and I thought I'd have a watch to see what you say. Absolutely amazed! Your stretch exercises gave me immediate relief! Quite surprised and pleased as well!! Many thanks! James
Ma'am, I have that in my left thumb. I work everyday and my thumb aches me most days (when I don't wear some type of brace). Your exercises helped extremely, I was doing them with you. Thank you!
I have found in my research and search for pain management of Chronic pains (I have plenty of it form Spional Issues / OA , etc) that there are Good Doctors and there are Bad Doctors ......like Plumbers, etc. - any professional. This doctor doesn't mention or advocate for supplements, but she should. Try Tumeric, Ginger, Cinnamon, Bromelain, and other Herbal Anti-Inflammatories. They may not Cure, but do seem to offer some help dealing with OA in joints. Osteo Flex products with specific ingredients not previously mentioned , can help as well.
Thank you so much for this! I starts crying doing these, not because it increased the pain, but because for the first time in weeks, I felt relief! I was so scared I was just stuck in this pain spiral (nothing else has really helped) but I now see I can find relief!
I can't believe this gave me immediate relief!! Thank you!! I have arthritis plus I injured my hand in the web area inside the hand, if that makes sense. I banged it on the corner of the counter and had a bruise there for days. After the bruise healed up, I was left with excruciating pain!! This has helped, and I've tried other exercises for it but this worked! Thank you again!
Thank you, I've been a mechanic for many years, and my thumbs get a little painful after working a few hours. Its great to have a way to relieve the pain.
Just what I need for some relief. I'd sort of been doing the last one through my experimenting and massage. Thanks. I don't want to take meds as a Dr one advised. 👍
Thank you! It helped immediately. My thumb was bothering me all day, but by the time I got through the stretches with the video, all the pain was gone. Just like that. I am so glad I found this. Thank you.
WOW!!!! I can't even believe it.... I can't believe I found about about your expertise! It's miraculous... I can't wait to continue to do these exercises... Thank you SO MUCH!!
I’m so glad to have found your channel! My arthritis in my thumb ( & my entire body, actually😂) has flared up recently & I’ve been taking advil for several days now. Your videos are truly helpful and have reduced my level of pain. I cant thank you enough. Thank you for sharing such helpful tips & information! I look forward to watching your future videos! ❤
These exercises certainly help. I've also been using CBD patches and boy do they provide a level of relief like no other method! That deepest pain right at the centre of the joints could never quite be reached until I started using the patches. I must admit I was sceptical before hand and did not expect them to work. They most certainly do. I now use prescribed pain relief, CBD patches and this set of exercises. My life has been transformed. I'm able to get a good nights sleep and not have that constant gnawing deep pain that just brings you down over time.
I have been having arthritis in my thumbs for over 50 years.I don't remember when I discovered the grabbing the thumb movement, but I have been using it for many years. Maybe after watching this video, I will start working the thumb regularly in stead of only when it hurts.
"Thumbs up" Haha. This seems so obvious that I can't help asking myself why I didn't think of it myself. These stretches provided me with an amazing amount of relief almost instantly. (Gee, that sounds just like the video tagline!) The dogs may not thank you, though, as they love the smell of pain relief cream.
I was very surprised and satisfied after performing the excercises I have acute arthritis in my left thumb. I felt an almost immediate release Thanks so much Doctor Will try thi daily and report back. God bless
0:18 "If you have some *thumb pain elsewhere* you could definatly try these exercises .. " Sheesh I have "thumb pain" in my thinking parts right now. (Hence my distrust of all experts.) LOL
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I have been going to a PT every other week for 2 months and it hasn’t helped. I did 5 reps for opening the joint and my thumb instantly feels better. I will try the second one but my experience has been if I try too much too quick I set myself back. Now could you tell me how to get rid of the swollen knot I’ve had near my thumb base joint from at least 6 months? Ice reduces it a little but I can’t seem to eliminate it. Yes, I have and wear a thumb brace but limit its usage. PT says I’ll have weak joint if I use it too much. Thanks again! ❤
I am subscribing and looking forward to learning and doing better with my hands. Nurses and PT don't explain other than saying old age.. but I was in a major vehicle crash 9 moths ago and been in pain daily .. sharp and aches... I don't think they want it accident related, at least it feels that way ... though auto insurance is paying. ... but some say work even if it pains and others say don't work if it pains, .. last Friday a new list to a PT said both of these... this is confusing and radical .. and I don't like my own ignorance.
THANKS for the great stretches. I do them every day and I am finding relief , I have a couple of fingers that click and want to lock up a bit when closing and opening fists What do you recommend for some relief for this, Thanks for the great videos
Chronic situation. Soft lump at thumb base/wrist. The first stretch produces the ligaments to consistently "pop", rub, whatever, with discomfort. No pain relief. My insurance only will x-ray, no mri. Got a half hearted diagnosis 4 sessions of therapy and sent on my way. Even though I informed them nothing had changed.
Please show how to do exercises for people who are left handed, too. I now share with any person in the medical field to ask this important question. . I had UC and have a permanent colostomy bag and I asked if the surgery could.be done on my left side. The surgeon said he was glad I asked because they would naturally do it on the right side. Hope this helps. Ty.
