It has long been a historical truism that, in the early modern West, pseudoscientific racial hierarchies replaced religious hierarchies as the dominant framework for understanding human difference and justifying oppressive colonialist practices, including slavery. Recent research has challenged this axiom to suggest how important religious conceptions of difference remained to the racist imagination into the modern period-and, indeed, into our present day. The convergence of racialist and religious orderings of humanity converged in American institutions like Harvard University, persisting in ways with which we have not sufficiently reckoned. This conversation is part of the Religion and the Legacies of Slavery series at HDS. The featured speakers are David F. Holland, John A. Bartlett Professor of New England Church History at HDS, and Kathryn Gin Lum, Associate Professor in Religious Studies at Stanford University.

We want to hold hands and beat around the bush. Neglecting the big picture because it would mean fold this up and give the land back.

Another reaction which happened was mirroring of Abrahamic religions by Heathens & in India's case Hindutva can be considered as an e.g. of this phenomenon but i did not see any mention of India, Hindu, Hindutva etc.

😇अहिंसा परमो धर्म 😇 ahiṃsā paramo dharma (“non-harm is the HIGHEST religious principle” or “non-violence is the GREATEST law”). Therefore, only a strict VEGAN can claim to be an adherent of the eternal religion (sanātana dharma).🌱

racism: prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or a people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized; the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another; belief that certain races of people are by birth and nature superior to others; discrimination or hatred based on the race of a person or of a people (that is, a group of persons). The term “discrimination” is of paramount importance in dealing with the topic of racism. According to the above definitions of “racism”, the term “discrimination” has invariably been used in a negative way in public discourse for the past two centuries or so. This word has its origin in the Latin “discriminatus” (the past participle of “discriminare”), from “discrimin-” (“distinction”), from “discernere” (“to distinguish between”). Although many methods or motives for discriminating are unfair and undesirable (or even immoral), the verb itself has a NEUTRAL history. English speakers borrowed it from the past participle of the Latin verb “discriminare” (meaning “to distinguish or differentiate"), which, itself, is derived from the transitive verb “discernere”. The verb “discernere”, in turn, was formed by combining the prefix “dis-” (meaning “apart”) and “cernere”(“to sift”), and thus, “to filter out or sift apart”. Firstly, there is no doubt whatsoever that certain races are superior to other races in certain aspects (sometimes so VASTLY superior that only the most rabid leftist would refuse to accept the facts of the matter). For example, some races have a far higher average intelligence than others, some are far taller, stronger and more physically beautiful than others, some are (on average) greatly more dharmic (religious) than others, some are naturally more quiet and gentle than others, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. I cannot imagine anyone (even a negro) who would, while walking alone at night in a metropolitan area, prefer to walk in the direction of a group of young negro men instead of a group of young Japanese men. If that makes one a racial bigot, then so be it, but personally, that accusation will never persuade me to walk in the direction of the negroes. Therefore, one ought to be extremely discriminatory (in the original and most etymologically-accurate sense of the word) when presuming to make charges of racial bias towards another!

No it’s not certain that any “races” are “superior” to any others in anything. There may presently be individuals from races that exhibit certain abilities, but since correlation =\= causation, there is no basis for presuming that any race or individual is essentially better at anything than any others are. The idea that they are not *essentially,* ontologically, skilled differently, is supported by the fact that claims of superiority in any given field have vacillated widely between nations and races given changing circumstances and opportunities throughout history. If IQ = high civilization, for example, Nords and western whites had some of the lowest IQs in the world well into the AD and far back into the BC, while brown and tan easterners trounced them in that regard, and are now coming round to do it again. When you’re currently on the top of the mountain, it’s easy to take it for granted, as if it has always been and always will be that way, but it’s just hubris and the pride before the fall.

You do realize there are more types of Africans who have more genetic distinction from other Africans than there are genetic distinctions between all Non Africans combined.
