My senior prom was hit by a tornado. Jackson Academy located in Jackson, Alabama on March 24, 1984. The tornado was an EF-3 and hit right after all the pictures were finished but just before the music was to start. One of the chaperons had their leg broken. Half of the gym, where the prom was being held, was destroyed along with the back half of the school. I have some great pictures of the moments right before it hit. It sounded like a train was passing and it sucked all the prom decorations the JR's had worked on putting up right out of the building. The vehicle I drove, which was my girlfriends parents brand new vehicle I convienced them to let me drive, had all its windows blown out.
