Thank you for dropping this. I loved that they played Radio Free Europe at the end of the set. That and Catapult are my favorites here. This is my favorite period of REM. I loved the mystery of Murmur, from the album cover showing all that Kudzu giving off an alien yet familar landscape, and the music, ah yes, the music.
This sounds great - it's a much more listenable mix than other tapes from this era. Everything is in balance, closer to the way it sounds on the records. Thanks for the upload!
@@oydave My one professional credit was as a set dresser/art dept. crew on a TV movie in the mid-80s. The art director had me paint a store front for an upcoming scene, and then wipe the paint off after the director decided he didn't like it. So you could say that I was a set un-painter for a brief period.
You must be a big R.E.M. fan if you’re watching this. Hopefully you can appreciate just how much Bill made the R.E.M. “sound” what it was. Not just his unique beats but his perfectly haunting vocal harmonies on most of these early songs. It’s a big reason why R.E.M. became so irrelevant when he left.
