Well, the median player certainly doesn't, but the *average* player... well still probably not. I have dozens of thousands in my survival world, and presumably there's other maniacs dragging the average up too, but I doubt it would be enough unless we count creative mode players.
I love how much you reduced and simplified the design. I’ve loved the idea of rainbow beacons ever since I first saw it, and have been trying to make tileable design to make a rainbow wave effect (gotta have that gaming beacon)
@@smallkloon Oh yeah! I know that flag. The prettiest of the pride flags! The straight pride flag! Blue for boys, pink for girls and white for the purity of god. Just kidding. Trans pride!!
I've been playing this game for over 12 years now but I never knew that you could combine beacon beam colors. This is some seriously cool stuff. I had no idea anything like this was even possible in this game.
You make such high quality content that I am never sad that it takes a bit longer to release. As long as you enjoy what you do, take as much time as you need.
the stuff that you make is truly incredible and i love watching every minute and hearing the explanations for it all even if i struggle to understand the high tech redstone itself
This made me think about how a type of glass that inherits the color of a beacon going through it would be really interesting, maybe something like copper infused glass? Would make some cool builds. Could also have some other functionality to make it less niche like toggleable transparency or one-way transparency.
YESSS just a couple days ago i saw your beacon color video and wanted to make the changing single beam in my friends' survival server but you didnt have the video about it out yet
@@timetravelingtraveler The left side beacon beam at the timestamp cycles through the white, light blue and pink. I'd say it's hard to miss, but to be fair, beacon beams everywhere in this vid 😅
@@timetravelingtraveler i think sometimes color schemes remind us of things i wasnt really thinking of it in the moment but when i saw the color scheme it reminded me of a thing i know, hope this helps
@kacpergryba2307 well, the beacons shown at 9:35 are cycling through preset sequences of colors. The sequences in question are from pride flags, not designed by squibble per se. And if you have a sequence, like blue-pink-white-pink-blue for example, making a smooth beacon is just a matter of making transitions for each pair of adjacent colors in the sequence. The process of doing that is essentially just iterating through the possible permutations of stained glass, which he demonstrated in his previous video
yeah funny thing is that i made this world like 2 months ago, qnd it just so happens that i finally make a video just in time for pride month lol; its the bi and trans colors yes
@@Muzzoon3668 imagine going out of your way to reply to a 2 month old comment on a Minecraft video in order to display to everyone you hate basic human rights
Here’s an idea for a video: I know many people want beacons in their base but don’t like how obtrusive the beam can be in the sky for your builds. Is it possible to design a piston device with colored glass to make the color of the beam to match the color of the sky?
I will say a couple issues that come to mind with this is loading/deloading chunks and sleeping through the night. I’ve tried to figure this out myself but daylight sensors are very confusing.
idk why the heck did I get so happy when I noticed the binary pattern before you mentioned it, I don't even know binary numbers, I only know how binary works and looks (thanks to minecraft redstone tutorials too) lol ToT
I love how Squibble always listens to feedback and suggestions. I remember when the shaders were blindingly bright then incredibly dark and he(?) kept listening to feedback. But I think he's gotten too powerful; when he placed the RU-vid video as a painting, I lost it. So creative, seemless, & professional. Love your content and the stuff you make it around, even if some people might be burnt out of rainbow beacon content lol. You make redstone content digestible & eye catching for my ADHD riddled brain. Appreciate you, keep up the awesome stuff ❤ PS: update your FAQ! It says you don't have a discord :p
Thank you for such a really lovely and nicely written comment, I really appreciate it! also Yeah, i forgot about the description thing, Ill change it when i can
I would love to see a 6 beacon version so you could have all the effects of the beacon and the rainbow show. I’d love to build something like this in survival.
What the heck, i just came back to my own old rainbow beacon project this week. and you just uploaded this. we must be on the same wavelength. ill hit you up on discord.
That was really nice ! I would love to build something like this for my bases beacons. A world download or block by block tutorial would be extremely appreciated !!
there is a litematica, but i might prepare a WDL, if many people request it. However, I highly recommend building PeterJiangTW's design, as its just about the same size (I think), and does the same thingc, but they have a block by block tutorial iirc
@@squibble111 ohhh I see continue on then my good sir. But if you do redesign it in the new version you should definitely consider that I think it would greatly simplify it
I’ve seen a bunch of different takes on Rainbow Beacons. But I was wondering, what’s the fastest possible design? Like, how fast can it loop over all the combinations before it has to start over.
The fastest possible design would be a 20 color per second design, but that would be really hard to wire and probably not worth it, unless of course someone can figure out a neat way to. The fastest design I know of is a 10 color per second one that he shows at the end of the video.
7:12 It actually reminds me of the palette limitations of earlier PC games, where the screen can show many thousands of different shades of colours, but only 8/16/32/256 unique colours in one frame. So "palette swap based design" perhaps?
