Hello, Just purchased the remarkable 2. When I send a notebook to my computer and save it as a PDF and print, it prints very small in the middle of the page and not actual size. Can you tell me if there's something I can do to fix this? Thank you
Can you convert your handwritten notes to text on these created templates? If not how do I do this. I want to create a prefilled form to be able to take to clients, fill out blank text box with writing in them and saving it with text. Is this possible to do?
Hi thanks for the video! I'm trying to use the RCU application to download a template from the RM2 to modify in sketch but it's in a weird .rmt format - any idea how to convert it to png? I've also noticed that the custom template layers are not visible on the mobile apps in the notebooks, do you know how to fix this? Thanks!
Thank you for this tutorial. Is it possible to create a required field in Scratch pad ? And does the Remarkable 2 support required field function in a PDF template ?
Hi @S S , sadly I don’t think it’s possible in Scratch pad or PDF template. You can put a field on the template with an asterisk/rectangle I.e. something visual for you to remind you it’s required. However the rM2 out of the box will not allow a user to specify a field and validate it is empty, you can send them a feature request as I would like this too. Cheers
Hi! I've been watching different videos trying to understand how to create my own templates for Remarkable 2 but I really don't understand why this whole process, I had thought about using Canva to create a cute template with sticky note images and downloading it as a png and then uploading it to the Remarkable 2. I still haven't received mine so maybe I'm not understanding this completely I ordered it last week. Anyway, thank you so much for your time and your videos. p.s. What is an RCU does that information come with the Remarkable? Sorry if that's a silly question I'm just trying to make sense of it.
Hi @Ana E. Gaeta, I will try and explain to help you make sense of it all. The reMarkable 2 comes with built in templates e.g. lined small, lined medium, music manuscript for example think of a template as a single piece of paper with a pattern on it which you write on. The built in templates aren't great for when they don't suit your needs so when you want to create your own "template" i.e. your cute template and sticky notes, this is where my tutorials are useful. The mobile/desktop applications that the reMarkable company ask you to download do not allow you to upload your own template. This is where the RCU (Remarkable Connection Utility) excels, its an application created by a guy who is independent of reMarkable company can allow you to upload your png (image) to your reMarkable and convert it into a template as if it were built in - it does the difficult stuff in the background allowing you to use your cute template as if it were a piece of paper that can be re-use again and again. Let me know how it goes when you get it :) . Chris
So my remarkable came in and I created a template using your video tutorial and downloaded it as png but now I'm stuck at the part of connecting it with the RCU how do I get an RCU I have a windows laptop... thanks again ... you're awesome
@@CoachAna great, check my video out here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1LOoYN_ayiI.html it will tell you how to get and install on windows - re: you're awesome 🤩
Hi David, that is a great question - currently reMarkable have not released that functionality to us users yet I can show you how to do it in a PDF if that helps but not a template.
@@MaverickNextGen I see - to make it into a reMarkable template I just need to convert the PDF to SVG or anything else? - EDIT: I see you can save direct to PNG from Apple Pages, that's useful.
Not quite, watch my vid: Remarkable 2 - Custom Templates How To Remarkable Connection Utility ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1LOoYN_ayiI.html
Thank you for this video! I created my own template yet when I converted the note to text, none of the notes that were typed into the template were sent with my handwritten notes. For example, my template I wrote, "General plan for next session _____" where I wrote in "continue to process" and all that was sent to my email was "continue to process." Any tips for how I can get the text from the template to be included? THANK YOU!!
Hi Laura, yes you can! Sadly the native convert to text and send to email won’t work on static predefined text (it’s not hand writing). Instead 1. Download and customise my template in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gvS2SwYpcv0.html 2. Download the Rocketbook app and setup the “email” destination to include OCR transcription and include text in body of email. 3. Scan your page and send to email. Et voila!
Hey there! I see i can upload a PDF using Remarkables own desktop app. I've created my own 2022 calendar that I'd like to use daily. Is there a difference in using RCU rather than just putting the PDF on there via Remarkable? thanks!
Hi @Sabrina Phillip, great question. The RCU not only gives you the option to put your PDF that you created on your Remarkable, it also allows you to upload a "Template" so you can select it from the "Choose template" selection and insert as many pages as you want unlike a PDF which will have a fixed number of pages.
Can you tell me what size can I apply to have a template that doesn't mind the sidebar, It's quite irritable as the side applied on the video is not fit the screen in consideration of the sidebar?
Hi Vo, sorry for delay just tested the dimension would be 1872 x 1299 (compared to 1872 x 1404). You would still need to you use a 1872 x 1404 template but the draw another rectangle/separator with the dimensions of 1299 width. So if you are right handed/left handed you know to leave a gap ....
Hi Kristina, great questions. Imagine a notebook where you wanted the first 5 pages to be “narrow rule lined” and then the next 5 pages you fancy having “music manuscript” and then the next 5 pages you want a “dotted” pages and then you decide to insert a “Cornell” revision page between pages 5 and 6. The rM2 allows you from the user interface to select any of these blank template types at will and build up your saved notebook. A PDF on the other hand will not allow you to choose from inbuilt template pages in the rM2, imagine a PDF being a digital version of a paper based diary, you cannot mix and match styles of pages - recently the ability to insert blank pages has been made possible. RCU = Remarkable Connection Utility, this software which you copy to your PC allows you to manage file transfers from you PC to your rM2. I have created a video showing how to install and use it, check it out. Peace
Hi @Dan Kadem, the RCU is supported on both Mac and Windows, I’ve installed on both OSX and Windows 10. I believe the vast majority of software that one has on Windows 10 will be compatible with Windows 11, as I understand it Windows 11 may have specific hardware requirements, the RCU software does not have demanding hardware requirements :)
@@dankedem6012you need to purchase the application here for $12 (scroll down to Buy now), www.davisr.me/projects/rcu/ and Davis Remmel (creator of RCU) will send you the download link. Watch my video on how to install, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1LOoYN_ayiI.html Cheers
@@MaverickNextGen yes but I paid for the RCU app and then lost my download file and im not sure how to find the download now. I don't want to have to pay for this again.
Hi Emily, sorry to heat you lost your download file. Please email Davis Remmel using this email d@visr.me and he will be able to provide the link, cheers. Chris
