Your review was systematic and unbiased, and it did a great job of organizing the points of comparison based on what one might actually experience in real use. It was really helpful for my decision to purchase it. Thanks.
it is very annoying to be honest this feature made it worse than unmarkable 2 , we have to wait every second for highlight to get adjust it self and for reading comics to we have to wait ,seriously annoying af.
@@devilalwayscry The Remarkable 2 also flashes when you write with grey, blue or red color markers, even though all of those are different shades of grey. So there isn't much difference when writing.
My main interest in e-ink is based around eye strain and how it doesn't 'activate my neurons' when looking at it, so I'd much prefer a warm option for the front light.
yeah, i am pretty surprised that they didn’t include a warm lighting option with all of the bad press blue light has gotten. I appreciate that they included a front light though. A warm light will probably come in a future version.
Really fair review. Well done. I guess it's a matter of what's the best e-writer *for you*, not what's the best one in general. For me, this is perfect-since I just want to use it as a super-charged notebook.
Thank you! I haven't launched the Paper Pro version of the Daily Planner yet, but all my templates for the reMarkable 2 are here: tablettemplates.com/remarkable/ Once the Paper Pro version is ready, it will appear on that page as well. The current templates for rM 2 work with the Paper Pro as well, but because of the limited gray colors of the tablet (described in review) some grays will not appear properly.
remarkable does a great job on its writing software but I'm afraid they can be easily outclassed in hardware waiting for Amazon to release their color scribe
On the flip side, Amazon has done a limited job with their software and getting notes off the device and not allowing most books to be marked on, but has great software.
Again, nobody mentions a very basic feature that is missing in all remarkable products - there no bookmarks in the PDFs which makes it useless when working with large PDFs especially with poorly designed table of contents
There are tags, but I think you're looking for a different functionality. Easy navigation has to do with the PDFs themselves as well - if they are designed for easy tablet navigation, organization & indexing or not.
Nice to see side-by-side comparison with Boox Color (which I already have). That tech is so muted it feels of limited use, but then when you compare to no color, you realize it is useful, just underwhelming. I am hoping the Canvas 3 Color used in Paper Pro is better. It is true E-Ink Color instead of using black to block out some colors a fixed color mosaic (like Boox current Color devices).
Wow, I expected a lot more given all the hype in the comments. It’s honestly not that impressive. The pen technology feels like a step backward, especially since it needs a battery, and the screen seems like it's still experimental. Honestly, the best thing about Remarkable is the marketing...I'm keeping my Boox Note Air 3c.
Nice video. As always Remarkable delivers a super great product, and being first to market with true color e-ink is not surprising. My only concern is the heavy lean into proprietary software, and cloud subscriptions. The company explains that is their Scandinavian highly principled distraction free artistic minimalism, but they are only entirely correct of those things in their own minds. Not quite deluded, that's too strong, but mildly manipulative when the reasons can be explained away by an obvious subscription business model. Therefore, many people are on the sidelines waiting for other vendors, namely Boox. Speaking for myself I'd prefer a more minimalist device, but all my notes are collaborative with other people... students & professors at University, or workplace associates. That means 3rd party productivity apps are more important than a pathological lack of distractions. I'm still not convinced the inbetween paired device model is viable to synchronize documents or otherwise collaborate, and feels like over engineered gatekeeping when it can all happen on the device itself.
Thanks for the review! I saw another review where there was a wiggle for the line when using a metal ruler to draw a straight line. Do you get that too? I'm thinking of waiting for a better version in the future to fix the issues you saw.
Was that from that Kit guy? He showed it’s a USI pen issue. Not sure why they left the Wacom standard. Wacom pens are perfect as are and don’t need a battery to charge, and line quality is never an issue.
@@sloppynyuszi yes, that guy. He actually did another live stream today and showed the wobble issue again and other issues. I'm looking forward to the reMarkable 3 instead until color e-ink technology gets better.
@@WillHasManyHobbies I hope more people bring up the wobble issue. I make cartoons and really don’t like it. I would assume people who do technical drawings also wouldn’t want that. To be honest I don’t need color, I have an iPad for that. So I’m good with my current remarkable. I just want a higher export resolution and cleaner vectors when exporting.
Not sure what the purpose of the "metal ruler" test was, but you can draw a perfectly straight line without a ruler (I showed it somewhere in the video as well). You only have to draw the line and not pick up the pen at the end for like 2 seconds - and the line will be perfectly straight.
Just ordered mine the other day. Thanks for the review. Switching from SuperNote. How did you get the Art of Dragon Prince on there? Like where did you get a pdf version?

@@johansmolinskinope but you can use any other app to take your notes and then export it to the remarkable, or import your files from the app to your iPad.
Honestly, you shouldn't worry about battery life, as it is excellent across all eInk devices. You can expect around 2 weeks on all. The Paper Pro is powered by a battery of over 5000 mAh, which is necessary to support the advanced technology and enhanced features. However, due to the more demanding hardware and software, the battery life is expected to be similar to that of the Remarkable 2, despite the larger battery capacity.
@@TabletTemplates I have a Boox Note Air 3C. I love it but the very downside of it is its battery life. That is why I am very particular of the battery life. Thanks for the reply.
