imagine if there was a microphone speaker that connected to the glade and everyone was like "HEY YO BITChEs WE GOT OUT" to the remaining gladers that left behind
I like how Ava Paige talks about how the Flare was even worse, and how she and WCKD are trying to find a cure, when she herself helped create the virus in the first place.
@@invertco1955 The real world outside the maze was an Earth ruined by a solar flare, crawling with mutants (called “Cranks”) infected by the so-called Flare virus and governed by WCKD, a bunch of finely coiffed scientists who wear white smocks (never a good sign). It was definitely WCKD then.
@@mariaaguilar620 WCKD was formed after the collapse of the coalition, the coalition created the virus not WCKD therefor Paige had nothing to do with the creation of the virus, she definitely used the virus to get her way up in power though, examples are infecting Anderson and many WCKD employees.
@@ryanzhu7269 I agree there is actually this type of poison which is grayanotoxin which I saw from sherlock Holmes where it slows/stops your heart (depending on the dose) and apparently it's actually a real poison! So it is somewhat plausible
I've always thought this scene is dumb. So they have just revealed the twist and try to convince them that wckd is good. Fine. To test runners they not only built a massive maze, they made giant ass cyborg spiders that kill children. Obviously whoever makes those are gonna be evil
Definately true but I think your missing the overall picture. WCKD truly believes what they are doing is good and in many eyes, they are good. So in a sense the guys who created the monsters are not always "bad" or not always "good." I think this movie did a great job at displaying what the real world is like. There is no good or bad as defined by kids movies. The world is harsh and decisions must be made.
@@ExInfamous yeah it's a good movie and all, I get your point. Every villain needs to convince themselves they are the good guy in their story but I can't get over that. It's just so illogical, it doesn't work on paper. The world's dying, the sun scorched everything. Billions dead and we have a zombie virus going around too... Quick.. we need cyborg robots to test children. In the last of us, Joel saves Ellie which dooms mankind. Very similar to the over all plot of this movie. Wckd = firefly's, Ellie = maze runners. Rebels = joel. I would argue that the firefly's are good because they want to save humanity by killing and studying Ellie and Joel is bad for the right reasons. However, if the firefly's diverted a crazy amount of finite time and people to create an elaborate maze including greavers that kill children, what's the point in convincing the runner's you're good when they just had to think about it. Every new runner there wakes up in a box with no memory, that just implies to me that whoever (wckd) is in charge doesn't care about you as a person and treats you like an animal test subject. I hope I made it as clear as possible, it's the characters reactions to this that I don't find believable considering what they went through. This scene is made pretty redundant anyway since half the second movie is finding out they wanna treat them like Ellie. One person calling bullshit in this scene would have made it work in my opinion.
I still never understood this part fully. I've read every book (including the prequels) but it's been a hot minute. If Ava didn't actually kill herself then how is that shown?
It was a blank shot. And yes, it was close to the head, therefore it did cause real damage. But it did minor damage, hence the ending scene where she had the cloth.
@@ishmir1710 Actually it was a revolver, it could have a fake solid barrel, with a type of electronic remote inside of it that gets triggered when the blank gets fire. This in turn sets off a fake blood exploding patch on the other side of her head hidden by makeup and her hair. Now she would have the fake blood, makeup, and the remains of the exploding blood patch on one side of her head, and the other would have the remains of burning powder residue that showered her from the revolver chamber, as with the barrel being plugged the flash of burning powder residue would still escape from the revolver cylinder and still cover the side of her head with some of it.. So no real injuries if everything goes right, just a bit of a mess.
"I am not the villain in this story. I do what I do because there is no choice. Our time is up. I can't kill you - but I won't have you standing in our way. Until we see each other again"
Even tho Maze runner was Made in 2014 This feels like 2020 because 1. In australia there were some deadly wildfires(just like the movie) 2. The flare virus more like the Corona Virus. This definetly feels like Breaking news
1:20 why aren't those guys wearing any masks or things to shield their face?? That's awfully close to an infected patient with a deadly brain killer virus
True, but more gladers from the original maze survived. Dan Carl John Alec And some more unnamed gladers. Basically, the ones who stayed behind in the maze.
I don’t think the movies are horrible, many movies based on books didn’t exactly follow the books, this happened in Harry Potter movies too like Goblet of Fire. At least they aren’t as bad as the Percy Jackson movies which are bad if you haven’t read the book and horrible if you have
So they built multiple city sized mazes and spent all that money, resources, and time just to test out some teens brains? Seems like a lot of wasted effort that should’ve instead been put to effectively finding a cure
You know what I just realized I’m the third movie they are trying to find a cure for the flare but in this movie they sent up three bikes of it with Teresa
Ariana'sLil' Cupquake when the grievers stung the gladers, they actually infected them with a version of the flare so in a way the syrum was a kind of cure
Something I did notice in the second movie. First. In this movie, Galley “dies” in the maze. Or so they thought. In movie 2, when Galley returns the teens are all stunned. But then look at Eva Paige. The group watches Eva shoot her self in the head (or so they thought). Then in episode 2, then Eva returns the teens don’t seem surprised one bit.
When I first saw these movies I liked how everything became clear in this scene, but hated how this hard truth helped lead to Teresa’s betrayal. 0:53 That look she gave Thomas, in retrospect I wonder if that was a hint she was already starting to get her memories back
Acronyms are used to allow more ease of speech, they often leave out letters in a phrase they turn into acronyms in order to make it better understood as a singular word. Many bills in various countries Congress make up often convoluted phrases in order to make the name of their bill a nice sounding acronym
There are older characters too... Okay, I just remember 1... But it's inmune only in the books. And _there are_ very young people affected by the COVID
