It's a crying shame his and his sister's remains aren't still, reunited with those of his family. It's high time this is addressed. May they rest in peace.

What a pity that Alexei didn't get to play his part as I think he would have a great Tzar He seamed to be full of empathy and he seam interested in his people and their lives. We can only wonder. To me he was a special child from what I read and saw. God bless the family RIP 🙏

Contrary to what the Baroness is quoted as saying, Tsarevich Alexei has his first hemophiliac incident when his umbilical cord was cut and he bled more profusely than normal. This is online in Wikipedia and there are also mentions in books about the family that he had episodes as a baby.

Czarevich Alexei had the potential to be a great leader. Czar Nicholas II & The Czarina Alexandra Feodorovna raised him well. His Father took him to work, he did boot camp , to Church ceremonies , and other stately affairs. He was close to his Mother & sisters & clearly showed love & respect for them. He was educated & spoke several languages. He was a normal boy who did not let his disability limited him ( he wanted so badly to jump into the water from the pier). I love seeing videos of Alexei being playful, and being respectful when he is with the Czar on his duties. Also, to hear about his last letter to his friend & to hear how his friend adored & misses him dearly proves how loving was the Czarevich. My daughter is now 20, but it was her who introduce me to the Romanovs when she was in 6th grade. I think she had a crush on Alexei, but knew it was silly as “he would be 100 years old.” But, she loved his sisters too. My son is 20, and the Czarevich reminds me how sweet, smart & playful a little boy can be. But also, if raised well, he would grow up to be a fine gentleman.

The baroness escaped in 1918 on a ship from Vladivostok on the Pacific coast of Russia. She then made her way to Denmark. Later she moved to England.

Beautiful insights into Alexei’s life. If world events were different, I feel he would have been a great man on the stage of history! Perhaps Russia would have been a very different place in the 20th century. His suffering and kind heart definitely qualifies him for sainthood! I encourage everyone to buy this wonderful book!

Sophie Buxhoeveden is another great chronicler of the family and those times. Alexei's ability , when he was feeling well, to throw himself joyfully into life has always amazed me. He suffered greatly, but lived as fully as possible as a child afflicted with his disease. Bless him.

July 17 was the anniversary of the entry into Heaven of the unfortunate Tsarevich. 64 years later, along with his parents and sisters, he was canonized by the Orthodox Church. He now watches over Holy Russia. 💒 💒 💒

Alexei was a gorgeous young boy with beautiful curly blonde locks. So sad he suffered from that dreaded haemophilia. His mother's hope he would one day be heir was delusional though. When the family were assassinated Alexei could no longer walk. Do to medical science at the time I doubt he would have made it to adulthood. The Romanovs didn't have to live simply. The dynasties wealth was one of the richest in human history

I'm sure that they hoped Alexei would be the tsar someday. But in that era there was no treatment for hemophilia, and most of the patients died in their twenties. He would probably not have lived to be the tsar.

It is incorrect that there were no signs of haemophilia in Alexis. He had bleeding from the navel that was not normal, a clear sign of haemophilia. The Doctors knew very early on he had this inherited disease.

She NEVER COMPLAINED??? Is this woman out of her mind?? Have you seen the notes’ she wrote to those poor daughters who were begging to see her. Example;,from Maria (paraphrased) I di hope you are feeling better and you will be able to join us for tea this afternoon”. The Hypochondriac “Be a wee Good girl,mamma’s heart is 2 today”. Pain scale 1-3 3 being 3 the worst. Those girls almost NEVER saw their mother because “various” illnesses. Every her own doctors said the “Illnesses’ were more psychological than physical,that in reality the only REAL illness she DID have was scatica. Those poor daughters. NEVER complains. She never STOPPED complaining.

Sophie says Alexis was healthy but fails to point out his bleeding from the navel as a baby, a sure sign of haemophilia plus his bruising easily. The Empress also never had popularity. Alexis also never showed any signs of being exceptionally bright. He never lived long enough to achieve much academically. One of the major reasons why Alexander III and Maria Feodorovna did not want Nicholas to marry Alix was that they were only too aware of haemophila running in the Hesse-Darmstadt family. Alix's brother Frittie had died from the disease. They also found their goddaughter rather peculiar having known of her from a very early age. There was nothing 'mild' about the haemophilia suffered by Alexis. The Doctors made it quite clear there was nothing they could do to help him apart from recommending he avoid situations where he could injure himself. That is why Nagorny and Derevenko were appointed as sailor 'nurses' to keep a constant eye on him. Of course Alexandra was completely to blame for passing on as a carrier haemophilia to her son. All her daughters could have been carriers as well just as her sister Irene was. Nobody knows about Elizabeth as she never had children. May died too young to know. The older sister Victoria Alberta was not a carrier. Alix's first cousin Victoria Eugenia was a carrier along with her other cousin Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone. Alexandra's Uncle Leopold, Duke of Albany was a haemophiliac and Queen Victoria was a carrier. Alexandra was highly delusional and diagnosed as mentally ill in 1910 by a top German physician. Of course Alexandra dressed extravagantly. One look at the clothes of hers that have survived shows this. She never truly cared or understood the great sufferings faced by the majority of the Russian people. She spent monies all too easily and did nothing to stop waste at the Russian court. She had along with Nicholas a ridiculous new village built at Tsarskoe Selo plus the Livadia Palace, both totally unnecessary. Alexandra also quickly lost her youthful beauty and looked old beyond her years very early on. Alexandra also had many new pieces of jewellery created from expensive tiaras to smaller items. Her tiaras were staggeringly expensive. She did not favour wearing existing jewellery. Bad luck did not follow Nicholas and Alexandra. It was their repeated stupid mistakes that brought the once great dynasty crashing down. They never listened to anyone in their family at home and abroad or to leading Russian statesmen. They never prepared any reforms. The entire progrram is deeply flawed.

The Tsar and Tsarina should have listened to Rasputan. Alexai was Leo ♌ Dragon 🐲. He would have had lovers, many.

That was a terrible time for women - never expected to be intelligent & use that, just be tokens for the men.
