Nicely done Rob….some great quotes and discussion about an investor who made a difference for many people. I always loved Charlie’s moral compass related to greed. Thanks

When someone so successful and wealthy passes away it really makes you think about no matter how different we all are and all the different paths we take. We all end up in the same place. RIP Charlie Munger.

Bob: I bought a single share of BRK-B in 2022 so I could attend the 2022 Annual Shareholder's Meeting. Considering that Munger was 97 and Buffett was 92, I realized this might be the last opportunity to see them both, in person. I am glad I went. I plan on attending 2024's meeting as well, for the same reason. Buffett's time with us is getting shorter and shorter. God Bless Charlie Munger's family.

I live in Omaha and run by Warren Buffett's house regularly always waving at the security cameras out on the street. I always hope some of his wisdom (and/or wealth) will pass to me. As Warren's right hand man, we will never know the value of Charlie's wisdom and counsel provided to Warren but it had to be invaluable. May he rest in peace.

Rob, why avoid a 1% expense ratio on a mutual fund if the returns on the fund are very high-higher than the S&P, for example? Yes, the 1% expense ratio comes out to a lot of money compounded over years, but the difference in overall return is even greater. Trying to understand the line of reasoning.
@jeffcecchini3588
@jeffcecchini3588 9 месяцев назад
If the fund *consistently* outperformed the S&P 500 after loads, fees, and the expense ratio over a very long period of time, it would be worth it. That's a big *if* though.

Jack Bogel. Founder of Vanguard. 2 well run funds . One high fees. The other low fees. Going forward unless you have a crystal ball you really dont know how the funds will do. Choose the one with lower fees. One less hurdle ( the high fees) to over come.

Why was Charlie Munger so much poorer than Warren Buffett?
@george6977
@george6977 9 месяцев назад
Probably because Buffett had more Berkshire shares. Buffett bought the shares of his other partner who needed to sell in the 1973 crash to pay margin calls.

With changes in the economy leading to instability in the stock market, some individuals may face a decrease in their investments in an effort to benefit from the current market conditions, I am considering liquidating my $725k portfolio consisting of bonds and stocks. After thoroughly researching Christy Valco D'souza on the internet, I concluded that I had made an informed decision. Thank you for this Pointer. She seems very proficient and flexible. I booked a call session with her too. @BarbDeLaney7
