Another piece of my childhood is now gone, 😔. I use to sit and watch Barbara interview literally, everyone with my mom. When she was on 20/20, it was family TV time for every episode. I honestly watched Barbara so much growing up, that I feel like I actually know her personally. Fairwell Barbara, may you rest in peace.
She truly was professional and prepared during her journalism career! She is such an amazing, decent woman. The world lost a giant in the journalism arena. Job well done on earth, Ms. Walters😢🙏🏽❤️🕊
Although I am a Caribbean Citizen and in live in Jamaica for all my life, it was really the unique journalistic style and qualities of Barbara Walters which really stimulated my interest to start watching Cable Television in1980s. She was, indeed, a brilliant and extraordinary Journalist, par excellence … who knew how to captivate her viewing audience. In many ways, Barbara Walters, in her poise, diligence and professionalism as a journalist, reminds me so much of two other important women of her time. These are Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Queen Elizabeth II …. Therefore, as we Jamaicans would say, "walk good Ms. B …"
What a life, she did it her way with intelligence, compassion, respect and then nailing it. She knew how to extract information and create friendships. Thank you Barbara for a life of trailblazing and teaching us humanity you will be missed! Barbara is how legends are built! My condolences to her family, friends and fans.

When you’ve grown up listening to and being exposed to the class and sophistication of a woman like Barbara Walters it defines you. The Ted Koppels, and Peter Jennings of the world, followed by the Howard Cosells, Chick Hearns, and John Maddens, you have no idea how fortunate you are!… until that is … They are gone! RIP Ms Walters, you are legendary.

What a trailblazer she was. I remember very far back when I was little how I wanted to be like Barbara. I wanted to be strong and assure of myself as she seemed when she was doing an interview or she was being interviewed. Rest in peace Barbara as you have touched so many lives.

..this morning before noon and before remembering Sonya Eddy, The View women remembers Barbara Walters at home but this time celebrating her career they did at her retirement two years ago. Now two years later after her death at aged 93 on December 30, the new year started with some sad news for members of the ABC Family and The View.

Barbara Walters Z”L A pioneering woman who had unlimited courage, magnificent chutzpah moderated with style and grace. A gifted investigative journalist everyone could TRUST to provide an authentic account of the facts by providing a platform for the truth, never a sculpted sordid or salacious tabloid-worthy tale She will always be a monumental inspiration for all, a measured wonderful person with values and standards many ought to be guided by That is clearly the reason so many people, particularly during a controversial period in their life, trusted her to interview them because she did not twist or edit to fit an imaginative sensationalised narrative. She instead extracted the truth from them, like a surgeon excising a lesion. They may have initially felt raw, exposed and vulnerable but to extend the analogy she provided the ‘local anaesthesia’ of dignity and courtesy along with the ‘antibiotic cover’ of the truth vs a torrid theory that infects and corrupts the facts. Barbara certainly appeared to be an authentic master and consummate professional, I admire that her difference was she authentically investigated and researched her stories to deliver a compelling journal, she did not assume or hypothesise. The consequence of her exhaustive research and appreciation for her subject was garnering a depth of respect and trust like no other. Her ethics facilitated the unique disarming of her interviewees, permitting her to ask the direct hard-hitting questions that others would have dared not, and were always executed with perpetual class and grace. I could only wish that all other journalists both current and future, uphold those platinum values and wise ethics, becoming the ultimate hallmark of presenting their craft in preference to the vulgarity and crassness of tabloid style toxicity. Like her, love her or hate her BUT read her autobiography- I learned so much about Barbara of course, but of the times she lived in. Personally I will always have a special place in my heart for this strong, smart, sensitive woman! Rest in peace - you've earned it Ms. Walters.
