Remembering LEGO Star Wars 

Lego Star Wars with no voice acting will always be dear to me.

Can confirm, LEGO Star Wars was how I discovered Star Wars, and was the first video game I was allowed to play. It is my childhood.

I’m probably one of the only few 2000’s kids that both played these games and had episodes 4,5 and 6 on vhs tapes, that’s how I was introduced to star wars. I still love Star Wars to this day

I played these so much. Ive dove back into games that I used to love as a kid, and often times I still love them as much. They just feel so comforting. I'm ready to feel like a kid again

I always find it so interesting to see series like this called out as “retro”. No hate at all, but it reminds me of the generational differences. I was finishing high school & working at GameStop as this series took off. Such a cool perspective, in my opinion. Again, not saying anything negative - just a cool observation. Love to see games celebrated by each generation.

matty relates to me so much im 25 and i grew up paying all these games definitely the best time gaming was all these nostalgic games we played as kids and the prequel trilogy was the best era and he even hates the sequel trilogy its not even cannon in my head anymore but the mandolorian is really good so atleast some new starwars stuff is getting done right

Love Lego Star Wars, I just got 100% on The Skywalker Saga very recently and had an absolute blast with it, as I did with every other Lego Star Wars game that I've played like TCS, TCW and TFA.

I remember playing this one back in the day. I played it on OG Xbox and it was just so cool at the time.

I remember my first lego that we played and still own is Lego Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars for the Wii. It was when our grandmother first gave it to us like 11 years ago. And then, we played the first game on the ps2 at our godparents houses. Then I got the complete saga for the Xbox one as an Xbox 360 game of course for my birthday. We also still own the complete saga. They are really great games, and of the best parts of my childhood.

I started with the gba version too. Loved the video, we gotta get a thrillville video now Matty. That's another huge game from my childhood.

I heard of Lego Star Wars before it came out and thought it was nothing special. About two weeks after release, I walked into Gamestop and saw a copy discounted for $20 and thought "What the hell" because for that price I really had no reason to say no. I bought it that day, then immediately pre-ordered the sequel once it was announced.

I’m currently playing Episode 2 of the new game. At first, due to the changes, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. Now, I have a much better understanding of the changes made and I’m enjoying it immensely. Lego fans will enjoy it!

My favourite was always lego star wars 3, running around the Republic star destroyer was way too cool to me as a child

I was intrigued to see how Darth Vader revealing his big secret would be handled He pulls a Polaroid of Padme and young Anakin out of his armour and points to Luke Genius.

These were some of the best games around when i was a kid and i played a lot of lego star wars 1 and 2 on the original xbox and complete saga and even 3 on 360. the new one looks amazing too i absolutely love lego star wars for the games they have made

The OG Lego Star Wars Hub world was the most memorable part for me when you’d ha e the characters all walking around and all out battle would start …was so Cool

I played every single Lego Star Wars Game, I was born on 2007 but my brother and I had a PS2 and played both Lego Star Wars games the first and the second one then on the PS3 Lego Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars and holy crap my brother and I played a lot since Christmas then fast forward in 2016, I got Lego Star Wars 4 The Force Awakens and I still played it until Skywalker Saga came, in 2020 thanks to the pandemic my brother got The Complete Saga on PC and we both played it and now 2022 and I have the Skywalker Saga, time does fly.

I actually miss game manuals so much I remember as a kid after my brother and I would convince my parents to buy us a new game and we would look through the game manual on the car ride home

I adore Lego Star Wars! My mom purchased the original 2 games when I was very young and then I purchased The Complete Saga that combined the games when I became an adult. I’m not completely sold on the new version of the game just yet, but I appreciate you making this video, Matty!

I remember having the original game (prequels) on the ps2, 2nd game (OT) on the xbox 360 and then the complete saga on the wii. I also had them both on the gameboy advance and still have one of them (forgot which) stored away with my gameboy advanced. Good times man Edit: I fully forgot about the lego Indiana Jones games lol tho ngl i loved those too and also liked the whole make ur own levels thing in the 2nd, even tho I was bad at it

Call of Duty 4 had some great AI damage. Captain price and the other Teammates were actually helpful at taking out enemies.

I was so disaponted in LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga. I would have loved more like a LEGO Star Wars Complete Saga Remaster.

Love the channel man. Been watching for a while but I always agree with your perspective. Also grew up with lego star wars and man oh man just fun innocent times. Totally agree with the mumbling part. I started with Lego Island 2 and Lego Rock Raiders on PS1. Great games and I miss when they used to only mumble :/ hopefully mumble mode in the new one will be decent

Lego Star Wars was the most fun for me and the kids in the neighborhood. We would go to school and talk about the game and all the new secrets we would find. I wish you would have touched on the "secret" episode 4 level in the original game. Also, fun fact is that xbox tried to cut costs in their game packaging about 2010. It was switched back after a couple years testing different designs because it would literally tear the discs apart from the inside. This video showed one of those designs lol

Lego Star Wars 2 was my first console game, I was already into legos and had lots of fun playing with them as a kid. I of course got Complete Saga next and liked it a lot except certain levels from 1-3, also played some handheld titles here and there. Overall I really loved the games up until I'd say Lego Avengers which is where I started falling off the wagon. Lego Batman 3 was the last one I bothered playing before eventually trying DC Supervillains and loving it quite a bit. Hated Lego Marvel 2 though... just was not fun to complete and the DLC levels were trash. Gave up on even doing all those ones. Overall I think these games got over saturated and have had lots of dips in quality but I can't deny how great they were to play as a kid. And some of the newer ones are still good in their own right.

You forgot about LEGO Star Wars 2 the Original Trilogy. But other than that, Wooo I remember playing the OG one on my Original Xbox back in the day. This was the first LEGO video game i ever played. Not LEGO Island, Not LEGO Racers, LEGO Star Wars was the first. Oh and the GBA port is based off the Early Alpha build of LEGO Star Wars that was around Months after Episode II was released in Theaters.

These Lego SW games knew their audience unlike some of the recent SW games with microtrasactions and being overpriced.

I honestly prefer the voices for Lego games. The mumbles only really worked for Complete Saga in my opinion. I noticed how whenever people talk about the mumble voices it’s only in reference to the Star Wars games. Never Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, the first Batman, Harry Potter, or Indiana Jones.

Now this is a franchise I've been in and out of for the better part of the last decade. I to start off with Lego Star wars the video game on PS2. Interestingly enough the game uses the blue DVDs which my PS2 would have trouble recognizing. After that I got the complete saga, followed by Lego Harry Potter years 1 to 4 and Lego Indiana Jones 2 the adventure continues, all on the DS. My memory is a bit blurry after that but at some point I got Lego Star wars 3 the clone wars using a flash card on my DS and I would lose my save file for some unknown reason. I eventually did finish the game and I remember getting the Wii version as well and not really enjoying it because I didn't know what to do a lot of the times. I also use the flash card to play Lego Batman 2 on the DS which I really enjoyed despite some cutscenes being removed, later on I modded my Wii and played a pirated a copy of Lego Batman 2 but I didn't enjoy it because at the time I didn't like the open world that you could explore because it felt more like a hassle and I was used to going stage to stage. I think I fell off the the series after that, I do remember getting playing Lego Batman 2 for my PS3 I bought and traded a copy of Lego City undercover on the Wii U. Much later on when I got my Xbox One I started collecting a lot of the backwards compatible titles including the various Lego games released on Xbox 360 and I do remember getting a whole bunch of Lego games through humble bundle and Just recently I got myself LEGO marvel The Collection on PlayStation 4. Needless to say I've certainly enjoyed collecting the games more than I enjoyed playing them as of recently.

I have the complete saga for Wii. I picked it up a couple of years ago with The Force Unleashed for $0.99 a piece. I sadly haven't gotten around to them yet. I had planned on playing them when I got them but in my defense I also picked up Xenoblade Chronicles and that kind of took center stage for 200 hours. Then I got a Wii U with Zelda Breath of the Wild and I kind of forgot about the other two games until I saw this video. Opps. 🤷‍♂️ So thanks for the reminder. I need to finally play this.

Matty on Lego Indiana Jones: "Way too bloated" Me: *In absolute disbelief, pure shock and horror* I'm going to have to strongly disagree on that hot take on Lego Indie. I thought Lego Indiana Jones' levels generally staying at similar lengths was better, while Lego Star Wars games (especially LSW II) would waver too much in length, making it underwhelming when they finished too soon and tiresome when they went too long - although I will agree that some of the LIJ levels went on too long. We are both probably biased though, you're an avid Star Wars fan, while I loved Star Wars as a kid, I've certainly grown out of the movies as an adult. Indiana Jones however has stuck with me. So LIJ is naturally my favourite Lego game in comparison. But regardless, I think it had an even better hub world. I also fairly dislike the vehicle levels in LSW now playing as an adult, the only one done really well is the pod racing (Endor is alright at least) - part because some were so short, more so part because the controls and view did my head in ahaha. But nonetheless, I love that Lego Star Wars can still be a way I can enjoy the franchise in comparison to the movies. Also my copy of LSW (prequels) game manual came in colour, odd yours isn't. When you were going over it you totally should have commented on the page 'HELP FOR PARENTS' ahaha, there's at least some humour there

I played the 05 lego Star Wars back in the 2000’s. I remember all the tropes, silent characters, & 100% completed it. Great game. Skipped original trilogy, skipped complete saga, & skipped any other lego game. Here I am in 2022 blown away. Voice lines are actually good, the expansive lvls are good, side missions & amount of characters are crazy. Only thing that sucks is that there’s no cantina or mode where you can see all the characters roaming around. Besides that, it’s the best Lego game… I’m glad I didn’t play the others lol. Edit: also.. no co-op is extremely lame & makes no sense in 2022

I was a really big fan of Lego games when I was younger but I never was actually a fan of the toys themselves I also had Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones I was never a fan of those movies either but I loved the games the only exception was Batman I am a casual fan of Batman. Anyway I was very let down by Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga after I finished it way to many glitches not to mention how they screwed up freeplay mode amongst other issues if that's the direction Lego will be going in the future I hope they seriously improve from Skywalker Saga because I really wanted to get back into the world of Lego games. Anyway the 3 I played Lego Star Wars, Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga and Lego Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars all have a special place in my heart alongside Lego Indiana Jones 1 & 2 and Lego Batman 1 & 2.

The new one is turning out great surprisingly but if i'm being honest i'm busy playing Persona 5 Royal right now, so Lego Star Wars will have to wait, every time i've started Royal i've put it down, maybe it's because i already played the original, combine that with the fact that the opening 12 hours are so long and a chore to get through but after you get past that dreadfully boring start, it turns into a phenomenal game (to be clear, no spoilers but i mean until after you get past the first dungeon then it gets good 12 hours in)

Mate, if it's taking you 45 minutes to play through the levels of Lego Indiana Jones, you might be the one making the levels feel long. I remember, and have recently played, the levels being nice and quick and I 100% the game in a matter of a few days. Maybe it's because I've played it so many times but it's nothing compared to the length of of the levels in Lego Batman 2 and beyond that game.

Crazy you havent seen episode 9 yet lol. But its probably a good thing, it basically undoes everything that happened in the previous 8 movies. But there is a couple good battle/ fights that i would say just watch those for a bit of entertainment. But you are probably better off not engaging with the story as a whole😂
