This is my video memoriam to Grant Thompson. Grant was tragically killed in a paramotor accident on July 29th, 2019. I will miss Grant, his life of learning and discovery on RU-vid and our friendship. 😢

I've been watching yours and Grants videos for years, I come for a nostalgia trip and find this video. Growing up gave me less time to enjoy both your videos. So I haven't heard of his passing, nor did I know of your family tragedies. I feel like another part of my childhood is gone. I'll always remember the countless hours of fascination both you have brought to me, much love.

I will never forget this man, the lessons he taught me, but also the lessons he taught himself. He wanted to be great and he wanted to learn, but I don’t think he will ever have thought just how many people he has influenced. We will always remember him, and what he did, and I hope that he gets the respect he deserves. Long live the King Of Random! May we all carry his legacy and never forget

You as well as Mr. Thompson have single-handedly been the inspiration of, essentially my life. I loved watching his videos as well as yours learning the process of engineering and eventually found in interest in the field my self. Last July, I was devastated to hear about his death. I didn't know the connection you had with him. He inspired many including me and his legacy will live on!

Grant's life reminded me of that line in the movie "The World's Fastest Indian" when Burt (Anthony Hopkins) says, "You live more in five minutes...going flat out than some people live in a lifetime." Grant seemed to live life to the fullest. See you in the next life brother.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I grew up watching you two in elementary school/middle school and you both had such an impact on my young life. I cannot believe I am just finding out about this. I watched Grant when his channel was just starting to grow. I watched him hours at a time.. a few months ago, I was recommended a video for The King of Random. I was confused as to why he wasn’t in the videos anymore. I just assumed he had left his channel to his brother. Now I know the sad truth... I will miss him, very much. May I see him another time.

Manthan Shah even his own channel hasn’t uploaded in a couple of days and the things they did upload are short and don’t say much. I can’t imagine how they must feel. Seeing tributes to him on random channels I find and follow makes my heart smile. He was so wholesome and amazing.

I don't really know him that well, but based on Thompson's reputation, damn...that is such a tragic loss.
