Let’s take a moment to thank the first responders (firefighters, police officers, paramedics, etc) trying to save and evacuate everyone out of the area. Your sacrifice means so much to the world
I'm not American, I've born in Italy and I live in Italy, this makes me Italian, BUT I'd like you to know that we also feel this day as a dramatic life-changing day. Here in Italy Every Single Person remembers where that day, that moment was. Everyone. It's though to explain what I feel, because that day not only US was hit, but the whole humanity was struck by the violence of the images and the facts. It's easier to tell you that despite the distance we also have our broken heart and still feel this day every year as the day when more than 2.000 people died and the day when 343 firefighters died conscious that they climbed 110 floors one-way only, because for them there was no return. We don't need to tell you "stay strong", because you've ever been, and you still strong.
Grazie. Most of my dad's side of my family lives in Italy. Naples, and Collecorvino. I'm almost full blooded Italian and means a lot that our people feel for us from over there.
It's why afterwards, we went to war with the Taliban and Al-Queda (not sure if I spelled it right). The Western World became united against terrorism that day and a NATO coalition went to war. Countries I know that we're included is he United States and the United Kingdom, though there is probably more that participated. But that day was America's darkest hour since Dec. 7, 1941, when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese.
My memory of September 11th. At that time, I live in burn down looking apartment on 1st Av 91-92nd Sts with my mom and American roomamte. On September 11th, I was on my way to High School for Environmental Studies on Hell's Kitchen, but I had eye appointment at Mt. Sinai Hospital in El Bario, so we were not morning news person, so we didn't hear about airplane crash. After appointment, I rush to 5th Av/102nd St and boarded M106 bus. I heard passenger talking to bus driver about plane crash, but I was focus to get to school. when I got off at Central Park West/97th St to get on downtown IND Central Park West subway at 96th St, after I swiped, one people say, "NO SUBWAY. PLANE HIT TOWER" I assumed it was only that subway, so I rushed to Broadway/94th St entrance of IRT 7th Av Subway Line at 96th St, no downtown trains were running. At few moments, announcement came all subway service suspended. I rush to Riverside Drive/97th st for downtown M5 bus, which was sardine and got off at 72nd St/Broadway for M57 East to 57th St/10th Av. When I got to my school, security guard thought I was cutting class, which I told security guard, I just got here and my paraproffesional Yuka Bell told her I was in hospital appointment. After school, my para called my mom that school bus, Hoyt Transportation, based out of Astoria can't cross bridge or tunnel, so my mom picked me up. After that, my student MetroCard expire since I swiped on subway that never comes but bus driver on M31 allowed me to get on. We saw the smoke coming out of World Trade Center building as M31 bus cross avenues. After we I came, I went to visit my friend at Battalion 10, Engine 22, Ladder 13, which I lost my best friend, Firefighter Vinny Kane.
I'm sorry for your loss. Even though I wasn't alive during the attacks, my parents and grandparents were, and they remember everything from where they were at, what type of car they were in, and how they figured it out. Again, I'm sorry to hear you lost your best friend.
May the souls of the lost one on the day of September 11th 2001 be remembered as brave and unforgettable, and they have not died in vain and thank you to the officers, firefighters, and others who lost their lives trying to save others and the ones you lived my god be with you all.
I can't believe it's been 19 years. I was 21 at the time living in an apartment where I was attending Kent State, and my friend called me and told me to turn on the TV. It was just horrible. I tuned in right before the second plane hit and couldn't even fathom what I was seeing when the first tower collapsed. School was stopped and people were lining up to get gas all the way down the main streets. I remember we were all waiting for another attack. We all thought that was it and we were being invaded. We ended up playing broomball that night in the ice rink on campus to get our mind off of it, but it didn't help. It's been a long time. So many people today barely remember it or don't even remember it. Being 21 at the time it really messed with me. To me, there are two worlds, the one before 9/11, and the one after. No matter how long ago it was, life hasn't or never will be the same. RIP to all the innocent victims, the first responders, and all the hero's that died that day in a senseless and cowardly attack.
Canadian here. That day I will never forget. I remember I had just gotten up and walked out into the living room and watched as one of the planes flew into the trade center. I was 10 at the time and I asked my dad if he was watching a movie. I remember him telling me it was not and idk I remember getting very upset glued to the tv for the rest of the day.
My father was a firefighter for New Jersey and he was at New York City and watched the whole event unfold. He was also one of the first responders who worked with the chief of New York. Today I wear a work shirt with 9/11 memorial on my shoulder and so does my father
My school didn't even have a moment of silence, teachers showed videos in home room but there was no moment of silence for the whole school which is a shame
9/11 wasn’t just a US tragedy. That day was felt worldwide. I was only 18 months old, but my parents who worked for British Steel and Royal Mail had the day off. Those companies shut down halfway through the day as it unfolded since the UK is 5hrs in front.
I cried my best friend was.... in the famous tower i love you johnny i will never forget you ever man thank you for the ... . silence for my friend my mother and my father and so many people who were in the planes and the heroes who got in and out safely and to those who..... did not see the daylight and the civilians running and got..... trapped and passed away And finally those who died of cancer like my dad everyone someday will be to look back and remember September the 11th 2001
Hey First Thirty Minutes, Loved the Video/Episode as always, keep up the amazing amazing content!! Condolences to anyone who was affected or know someone who have been affected by the 9/11 Attacks.
It's crazy for us who were there in school during 9/11 to think there is kids in high school now who were not even alive back then I'm only 25 but in a way it seems surreal
I was born 3 years after the event, but my parents and grandparents remember that day very well. All praise goes out to the heroes of 9/11. Firefighters, Police Officers, EMTs, etc. That day, the U.S. Airspace locked down after the planes hit the twin towers. Only planes you would be able to see are USAF jets patrolling the skies and whatever plane is hijacked. Let's not forget the 3,000+ people that died during this attack. This day was America's darkest hour since Pearl Harbor happened in 1941, 60 years before 9/11.
My parents were at the twin towers 2 weeks before the attack. My mom’s brother worked at the World Trade Center on the morning of that fateful day my moms brother woke up late so he took the day off. and then the alert went out a plane hit the tower so my mom tried to call him but he didn’t answer the phone. So my family starts to freak out. Then we found out he was ok.
September 11th was a tragedy the day of September 11 i was working security that morning at a trucking transportation company called Harris transport here in Winnipeg I just started my shift the guard I relved phoned me and told me one of the towers was hit I just turned the radio on when the second plan the tower
I'm proud to be an american and I salute all first responders and military who currently serve or have served our country and communities. Does anyone know who did the arrangement of the national anthem for this beautiful intro. Because I would love to use the audio of the violin of the national anthem in future rememberance videos. Great video. This is hands down the best video ever.
In September 11,2001 American airlines flight 11 hit the world trade center at 8:00 AM ! And in 9:11AM United 175 hit the South tower of the World Trade center ! Both Planes are Boeing 767-200 ! Anyway RIP THOSE PILOTS AND PASSENGERS !😩😩😢😢😞😞
