Hyde Park Was Not Always Part Of The City The city neighborhood just West of the McKinley bridge is called Hyde Park. It was founded by German immigrants in 1844.
I’m only in my 30s and I already miss how nice St. Louis used to be. North city looks like east St. Louis on MLK drive now. I grew up in the country just north of St. Louis and our worst trailer park isn’t anywhere near that bad. Shame bc the city’s history is being destroyed by its own residents.

My family were more on the Kansas City Missouri side, but the story is similar, aside from the fact that Kansas City never had that community spirit, at least from the way my mom tells it!
