Before No Way Home, there was Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensinos. A true multiverse Spider-Man game. - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sQ3O-1ZH9yA.html
The real underrated gem her is the ultimate Spider-Man not only is the web sling great the story was my favourite definitely just as good as insomniacs combat was decent and you get to play as venom... You even fight wolverane😳
I'd say ps1 was considered retro when the ps4 came out and ps2 retro when the ps5 came out. I think the ps3 is too good looking to ever be considered retro.
@@thaiboypsp3000 retro is word used for the old way of doing things or to do with the graphical style, it isn't to do with the year. There are still games that take heavy inspiration on how the ps3 era handled things, the ps3 is also the result of what standardised controls are for most games. The ps3 may be old but isn't outdated.
I still have Spider-Man 1 and 2 on GameCube and 3 on Wii. They were my favorite games growing up. "Looks like the freak wants to play" is burned into my brain.
I had Spider-Man 1 and 2. I couldn’t beat 1 as a kid because of the timing on the shocker level and the disk broke so I never got to try again when I was older. But both were really fun with cool combos
I loved the combat in Web of Shadows. The aerial combat, wall combat, and stylish combos were sick. I remember playing the Insomniac game and thinking I sure do miss Web of Shadow's aerial combat.
Yea same here the combat in the new one sucks if I’m being completely honest like it gets so repetitive so fast and it’s just the same combo over and over again with gadgets that almost all do the same thing and some just aren’t worth using
I would argue Web of Shadows could have the best combat out of any Spider-Man game. You had combos for ground, wall and aerial combat. Times that by two considering both suits get their own upgrades and combos. WoS has a decent yet janky story but the gameplay is great. Frames permitting...
I never knew until recently that the Spider-Man game on PS1 was on the N64 as well. That game will always have a place in my heart as well as the Raimi games.
Growing up with every movie era of Spider-Man helps me enjoy all. The games included I still really enjoy Spider-Man 3 (360) the most! I still think it’s better than the film. Fun combat, good city, good QTE’s, fun story, and a damn good time overall
Who else knew this? I grew up playing Spider-Man 3 on the PS2 and recently got a cracked version for PC and they don't have the best part of the game in the PC version. On the PS2 version you can only wear the black suit for a certain amount of time and the longer you have it on the harder it is to take off. On the PC version the suit is purely story based. You can't removed it on command... was very dissatisfied
I still have spiderman 2 for PC, played it a lot back then, but maybe it was a little different than the console versions? Idk. Some of the stuff shown I don't remember, but maybe it's just my memory. What I grew up with was PS1's Enter Electro, played the shiiit out of it, loved the unlockable characters.
spider-man shattered dimensions was the inspiration for all the spider-verse comics we wouldnt have spider-man into the spider-verse and spider-man no way hone sithout it
First of all, great video! You have earned a new subscriber, can’t wait to check out your other videos! That being said, a little bit of criticism. I feel like you’re a bit too hyped up in the video, and it feel unnatural. Now, I’ve never seen your videos before so maybe that’s just how you are, but if you’re not, I think it might help tone it down a bit. It definitely isn’t a big deal at all, still loved the video, maybe just food for thought. I am in my 30s though, so maybe that’s what gets the views. I don’t know, keep up the good work.
Although it's slightly better but not by much I had the ps3 version. That and the Xbox 360 version looked better and played better. The ps2 wii and psp version of Spiderman 3 look so much worse in comparison
My favorite Spidey game from Sam Raimi era of Spider-Man is the Spider-Man 3 on Ps3. It was thoroughly fun and engaging+the QTEs sequences are a goldmine themselves. Spider-Man 2 is just overrated at this point.
2002-2004 Spider-Man marketing has such a warm place in my heart. I still remember late 2001 my friend showing me a leaked set picture of spiderman still with the black lenses. Good times
You can say the same for no way home..Andrew basically did free marketing for no way home during every interview...the leaks were basically all real...especially the andrew one...damn good movie..and lived up to the hype, leaks etc....spiderman 2 still dah goat thou(my opinion)
Spider-man 2 on PS2 was an outstanding experience. Spider-man 2 on PC was a flaming trash pile that fucking used the PS2 boxarts screenshots to trick me into buying literally an ENTIRELY different LINEAR game by a completely different studio. ya... they did that. Try finding the back of the boxart for it, or even a copy online to buy yourself. You can't its been buried.
The original Spider-Man game on the Playstation is still one of my favorites. Venom absolutely steals the show during his sections and there's so many quotes from him that I still think of to this day. One of my favorites is when you're in the Daily Bugle and the symbiotes are crawling around. Spidey tells him the plan and Venom just goes "ohhh are we gonna surf the web? Surf the web! Surf the web!" But it's the way that line is delivered that has me chuckling as I type this up. Ah good times, good times.
I absolutely loved the first Spiderman game. It was the only game my Dad enjoyed playing. If I can get my PS2 working again (Disk Reading problem) I’ll give it another shot.
Had Spider-Man 2 on the GameCube lol definitely my favorite Spider-Man game at the time. I remember being amazed by the graphics and open world system. Great NPC citizens too
You're really doing a great job with this channel man! And totally agree on the Tobey era being the best. Spider-Man 2 to this day is still one of my favorite movies AND games of all time
From my perspective, Spider-Man 2 is the best still. Insomniacs Spider-Man I completed (platinum trophy) in a week. It's story was good and gameplay was fun, if a bit arkham-esque, but after completing it I never really went back. Spider-Man 2 I played for years and took me ages, as a younger person of course, to complete. And I did it multiple times. I feel like the ps4 one is gushed over so much because it was the first mainstream attempt at a Spider-Man games in a really long time. Since the original trilogy there had never really been a game marketed in quite the same way and because so many people have it now, it has a huge following. Whereas, the other games in-between original trilogy and PS4 were a bit more niche that only a smaller number of people really talked about. The web swinging is also a lot more creative in the original Spider-Man 2. You can do so many cool things with webbing and swinging, shooting 2 webs at once for instance. I'm amazed the newest one doesn't have it, it's swinging is very basic really. I imagine the new Spider-Man 2 will have multiple webs but it still stands that the PS2 era version had a lot more traversal creativity to me.
As good as the Insomniac Spider-Man game is, I still think Spider-Man 2 is superior in some ways. The old game had SO MANY combos to learn that it almost felt like a Tony Hawks game at times! I miss the way you could string people up from lamp posts or hang upside down in the old game.
My favourite part about the first Spider-Man game was using the cheat code that let you play through the story as the Green Goblin 😂 Also I saw No Way Home yesterday, it rocks.
Spider-Man Web of Shadows. Best Spider-man gameplay ever. Web swinging, combat, you can fight on fucking walls. Dont just watch gameplay because alot of people love the super fast jittery swinging you can do. I hate it, but its somthing the game lets you do. Web swinging has never been more cinematic
Spider Man 2 is a great game and all, but you're putting it too much on a pedestal. A lots of things doesn't hold up nowadays and you talked like it was perfect. It wasn't, and a lot of games that came after perfected it's ideas like Ultimate and Web of Shadows. It's a important SPIDER MAN game, not a holy grail of the gaming industry.
I'm not going to bitch on a person's opinion, but that take on Web of Shadows is just wrong haha. Top 3 open world Spider-Man game before Insomniac's, maybe even top 2 (but ultimate was super similar to spider-man 2)
I really liked the... I guess "stealth" levels in the first Spiderman game. Sneaking through Oscorp, going through the vents to find data from different offices and then trying to find the lab I believe. Good times.
Web of shadows not good on the combat front? That game was the first SM game to really push what you could do with spidey, wall combat, aerial combat, not to mention the black/red suit switching combos and how fluid and cool it was to switch between these two. I think WoS is one of the most underrated superhero games ever made. Insomniac really took a lot from this game as well, but it never gets credit. WoS was one of the funnest SM games to play, especially because of plot and combat, up until Insomniac's.
Web of Shadows not good on Combat? Lol that's literally it's best aspect is the combat. It still is the best combat system in any spiderman game. Even better then Insomaniac
Just saw the movie. Wow every one needs to see that movie. Also Spider-Man 3 is one of my favorite super hero movies. I don’t think it’s bad tbh, it fits the comic book style.
Hot take. Spider-Man 2 web swinging is superior to insomniac. You could feel the momentum and speed of web swinging, not to mention the dual webbing when swinging. It amazes me how insomniac didn't include that.
@@suicidalloafofbread2009 In the end it’s all subjective BUT, Spiderman 2 had a great momentum system. You can keep going faster and faster while in the new one, though the swinging is great, it feels a little bit sluggish at times.
Spider-Man 1 game is super overshadowed by 2. Honestly I didn't think the gameplay for Spider-Man was particularly good. But holy shit I could play goblin mode for days and days... And I did. I was so jealous when I found out PS3 Spider-Man 3 would have an exclusive goblin mode. But when I found out you couldn't even get off the glider my jealousy vanished
I think it surpasses Insomniacs combat system. I mean if I’m being honest the new combat system sucks. It’s the same combo over and over again with gadgets that almost all suck. And there’s only like three suit powers worth using.
I loved these games and the movies when I was a kid. Raimi Spider-Man is the best. Spider-Man 2 was the pioneer template for all superhero games for the future. Also I will never forget those pizza delivery missions. Super nostalgic.
i love these games so much, but one thing that irritates me is the inconsistency between 1 and 2. At the end of 1, Spider-Man starts to tell Mary Jane something (it is implied that it is his secret identity), but she interrupts him and starts to kiss him, saying “it’s okay, i already know”. But at the end of 2, Spider-Man gets unmasked in front of Mary Jane, and Peter says “I’m sorry you had to find out like this”, kinda invalidating the events of the previous game.
