Theme of Remilia Scarlet (Stage 6 Boss from the game Touhou 6: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil) taken from TAM's Touhou Violin 2 Music, Image and Game do not belong to me. Enjoy!
12 year old EOSD banger in my recommended. Septette for the Dead Princess is such a good song, and this arrangement is beautiful! Also the l i c k at 4:33.
The background drums in the first half sound very much like Lufia 2. This fuses quite a lot of emotional epicness into this piece. What a sneaky approach to eargasmerize someone. Me likes!
if that's what you wanted to say, I honestly thank you for your detailed explanation and I hope I understood what you wanted to tell me. And yes, your critique is honest.
Same here, altough I found it quite slow for the first part. The speed if part of the awesome as it underlines the epicness, the way ZUN made it in the original.
xD My brother was listening to this song (except in a version when someone sings) and I was like "hmm sounds familiar...oh, well." Several months past and today I was looking in my favorites to delete some I don't want anymore, and listened to some of them, until I found this one that I added 2 YEARS AGO. I was like "OOOH!!!"
@Frostwolf223 Hey, you don't need sheet music. Try to learn with your ear if you can't seem to find any other way. It's EXCELLENT training for your ears, and a vital process if you really want to advance as a musician. At least, I like to try playing things off ear if possible. It feels so good when you manage to nail a song with no exterior help. Oh, and btw, the violins play the melody, so you can easily grab piano sheets and base yourself off that.
Errr, wow, when I asked for a more detailed explanation I didn't think I'd receive something like that for an answer. So to make this short, the violin is the main instrument starting from the beginning taking all the other instruments' role to make it sound more "symphonic" making the piano and bass as supports and the moment it should be expanded the composer used other instruments to play solo parts of the theme if I grasped the concept right. Sorry, I'm ignorant music-wise so I dunno cont-
hey now, he just asked if it is an anime or not, im a touhou fan and 7 years ago i didnt know what was touhou, and sometime ago you didnt knew too, is it to much to say "no, its just a hell of a shooting game with epic remixes of all character themes" now we know that if anything exists, there is a touhou version about it xD
Since most of the other voices sound to be playing in unison excluding the bass. You cant really hear the wind section and the strings are completely over powering. When the second theme starts, its heavy in treble and nothing else, as far as coloring, is happening. And if there is something happening, its difficult to hear over all the soprano voices. The interval fourths that the bass voices go into starting in about 1:01 is a bit unprompted since its sounds like some type of march or Cont-
On me traite de tarée à l'école du fait que j'écoute ce genre de musique. Moi je n'arrive pas à comprendre comment ne pas aimer cette musique. Elle est vraiment superbe, j'ai beau être très IOSYS, j'aime vraiment cette musique...
scherzo. But i can't be a scherzo since this is only the first movement of the symphony. The next section of the piece, starting at about 1:40 is abrupt and is just a restating of the actual theme of the original song with basic voice leading. The middle voice arpeggio kind'of stuff is alright but the other voices aren't doing anything for color, just place holding notes in the chords. The solo violin is still scratching out at this point which is even stranger because like I said before, cont-
this isn't a concerto. But even if it was, the violin isn't playing much solo material, it's simply doubling the middle voices, (who are playing the melody?), and then going off into this strange jazzy interjection which actually could work in symphony if not for the instances of solo in the beginning. Then all of a sudden the piano comes in as a soloist, at what would be a good time for a soloist to come in, except we've already had the soloist. But these are just theoretical details, cont-
Well lets see. The entire piece starts in a violin solo, which is very un-traditional especially for a symphony and also doesn't really establish the key signature well. In the exposition the solo violin (still misplaced) doesn't blend into the texture of the other strings well, I makes it sound like this is supposed to be some kind of concerto. It's also weird that the solo violin is playing what sounds to be the middle voices. Why not just have the middle voices play that? Cont-
The difficulty isn't even that high. It's just tricky... Very tricky. Although I'm dying in Stage 1 Lunatic mode.... Even need 3 Continues... Ok it is difficult
I know that we're free to voice our opinions but if you're going to talk about improvements then you should be more specific rather than just saying that the song should be expanded to sound like a real orchestra.
This isn't really all that symphonic. I mean, I guess you can say it is because of the orchestration but a real symphony would be much more expanded, the melodic material would be played with a lot more before changing through the movements, and there aren't normally improv piano solo's in symphonies -__-
this is actually not from an anime, although there are a few fan made ones. this is a remix of Remilia Scarlet's theme from Touhou: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, which is a danmaku (bullet hell shooter) game series. notorious for its soundtrack, as well as its insane difficulty even on easy mode.
