Better than most Christian apologists. At least he is willing to accept %99 of science and he doesn't attempt make up answers as so many Christians do. Based on the religious zealotry we often see of Muslims in the middle east however, I have to conclude that he is a rare progressive among many ignorant fundamentalists. He should avoid talking about specifics on biology though. Lucy and Cro-Magnon comments were wrong and didn't help his argument.
micro evolution is proved we see it genes are similar in animals and they do make a hierarchy but the big gun one whole specie came out of another is not proved we haven't seen this..because we are not evolving nor are apes evolving into..man...so your equation micro evolution = macro evolution has no scientific base it is an assumption made when we saw micro evolution...
"Lucy is not one specific person." Actually, Lucy is an individual woman, a Australopithecus Aferensis, the species that later evolved into Homo Sapiens, Neanderthals etc. Yasir Qadhi makes the following mistakes 1) Confuses Lucy as the "Mitochondiral Eve" and 2) Does not understand what scientists mean by "Mitochondiral Eve".
@7:00 We have also documented Macroevolution, species changing into other species unable to interbreed with past species. Hundreds of Microevolutions amount to Speciation. Especially in ring species. Also, as the Microevolution happens a species undergoing change is able to interbreed with it's original species, it eventually leads to a sustainable population able to become a separate species.
Other then the Lucy misunderstanding, this is really not that bad (in comparison to the others). He is speaking as a theologian not a scientist, and his belief is based on faith. So based on his Faith its not as bad as the others who are taking a scientific rather then religious view.
So, evolution's OK as long as you don't suggest (gasp!) that humans are also part of it? Yeah, because some people feel so inadequate, they have to think of themselves as something intrinsically special, unrelated to the other forms of life. That also gives them a lot of leeway in terms of messing around with their fellow creatures. But to an extent, he's right. Humans are a special species; that's a no-brainer. Humans are the only life forms on the planet to make shit up.
and theory of evolution says and you believed it why..?did it show you the fossils of that ancestor or did it said that man and apes have some genes in similar...the theory of evolution fundamental statement is that living things evolved from simpler single celled organism to more complex ones and human being is the most evolved form..if we and apes share same ancestor..that would mean that ancestor had human+apes genes which is a contradiction to the first statement..
Great video! A few thoughts and questions to ponder: 1. Does the Qur'an explicitly state that Adam and Eve (as) were sent down to Earth physically? Or could they have been sent to Earth as spirits to inhabit a human vessel? 2. Does the Qur'an definition of a human/mankind/nas map 1:1 with the scientific definition of human/mankind? Could Adam and Eve have been one or more evolutionary hops away from modern humans? Why not? At minimum the various races after them show micro evolution at work
"I demand of you, and of the whole world, that you show me a generic character ... by which to distinguish between Man and Ape. I myself most assuredly know of none. I wish somebody would indicate one to me. But, if I had called man an ape, or vice versa, I would have fallen under the ban of all ecclesiastics. It may be that as a naturalist I ought to have done so." --Carolus Linnaeus, letter to J. G. Gmelin, February 14, 1747
and one a very simple question..the theory evolution states living organism evolved because of the conditions and environment to better cope it..but we have seen single celled animals can live in conditions that hardly allows life..and scientists thinks that was exactly the conditions of earth in its early life..what on earth made the single celled organism to evolve??????????because they can live in any kind of conditions..we should have not been here if their is no flaw in this theory..
The more of these I watch, the more my admiration for Potholer54 grows. Having to watch these, all the way through, is genuinely suffering for ones art.
Specially hadiths in which it was said that in paradise, we will be created in the form of Adam, have raised questions for me. The body of Adam in paradise, should be very different from our form. For example he is described in size than 60 yards. Allahhu allem. I hope you understand what I mean. I'm from Germany and my English is not my strong point.
