In this Remington HC4250 shortcut clipper pro haircut kit review I discuss why this Remington clipper is one of the best hair clippers for home use. You can find it here: amzn.to/2pfAfjI
UK Version: amzn.to/2lKyl5Y
CA Version: amzn.to/2mDWzTA
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From my experience Remington HC4250 shortcut clipper pro haircut kit is one of the best hair clippers for men. The HC4250 is a great option for beginners and experienced users alike.
Pros:
- Cordless
- Can also be used while plugged in if battery runs out
- Curved blade makes for a smoother cut
- Price is pretty reasonable compared to similar clippers
- 9 guards ranging from a #5 all the way down to a #0
- Can remove all guards for an extremely close buzz
Cons:
- Travel pouch doesn't fit all the guards, only the clipper itself
- Amount of lubricating oil included is very small

Nice one. I always try to use my clippers in the back yard with a mirror placed on the wall. Saves all of that messy cleaning up in the bathroom. It's also amazing what a difference natural light makes.

I bought one yesterday... after looking at your review and others on the web. Got it for $79 Aus Dollars. I have never attempted my own hair before and used this, it was a breeze... quick and easy. I would recommend this to anyone, watch a few youtube video's on how to cut your own hair... definitely have a hand mirror to help you.. very hard without it. My haircuts last less than a month and cost around $30 AU dollars each time. This will pay for itself.

Definitely. I have been saving $60 a month for the last 10 months since I got mine. It has way beyond paid for itself. And you are right it really isn't that hard once you get a few repetitions in. Cutting your own hair almost becomes second nature. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.

I still think the old style cut more even for those of us that wanted a bit longer length. Th battery was OK for me but I charged it after every use. When the battery no longer functioned I would cut it (dremel tool) out the Ni-cad battery a and replace it with an external battery holder. I was then able to use a rechargeable lithium battery to power the unit.

I just want to add the Remington clipper works really well for me. I’ve been cutting my own hair about every three weeks for the last five months. I start off with 2.0 guard on top and back of my head, and then I switch to 1.5 guard for the sides. I'll keep using the latter guard for my entire head until I cut as close as I want. Now that I cut my hair regularly, it only takes about 15 minutes to do the job. The guards keep you from cutting your hair too short, like bald. I wouldn't advise using the clippers without a guard. I also got a pair of those barber scissors to cut near my ears and around my head. Plus, I just like how the cutting sounds as I use them. The Remington Clippers save me money and time from having to go and sit in a barbershop.

I got mine for £29 here in the UK to replace my broken Wahl clippers. The Lithium battery was definitely a huge plus, it's cord/cordless as well and the design is great for self use. As I wanted to bald out my head without using razors I also went for the Andis Profoil shaver to use in conjunction with it, those two give me a much closer shave than a Mach 3.

is it able to shave the head bald? I mean the remington HC4250
@mellowmarkable
@mellowmarkable 7 лет назад
No, grade 1.5 is the lowest. (1.5mm) Some shavers will go as low as 0.5mm but for completely bald you will need to use a manual razor. According to one of the answers at amazon UK, : www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012F8MS9A/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B012F8MS9A&linkCode=as2&tag=1567&linkId=5a0b96f11f0535ba1f7c74766ab6ebc1 "you can't do Zero with electric hair cutters. A Zero cut is done with a wet shave. The closest cut I've ever heard of with electric cutters is a 0.3. This is without any guards of course. Usually these electric cutters have movable blades that will slide from say 0.3 up two notches to 0.5. You then have to add a guard to get 1 (grade). "

Do you know any of the names of knock off company's selling what looks like the 4250. Just trying to rack it down, because I thought it was a Remington and ordered a power cord, but then found out my hair cutter is a knock off, so I'm trying to find who it was I bought it from so I can get the power cord. The thing runs fine, just having trouble getting a power cord for it. Any idea's?

I just ordered one. (I already have a Philips (Norelco) QC5530 Head Groom which does not have the curve, but it has the 180 degree option, especially handy for behind the head trimming.) Let's see if this Remington HC4250 can also be utilized for trimming my beard to a short to medium length. I don't see why not. If it does I''ll put the QC5530 on the table in the entrance hall of the apartment building I live. We leave things there that are still good, for anyone who wants them. That way I gave away stuff and also found things I could really use.

I don't like all the plastic blade guards, I don't have enough room to store it in different compartments. I bought 2 of these and just use the #3 and then #1 blade guard so I don't have to keep swapping them out (even reading the #'s on the blade guard is difficult, I don't know why these companies don't make the labels easier to read). I do have a Panasonic trimmer that has an adjustable size blade guard that I like (but it is a beard trimmer), so I don't use it much. I would really like a plug in Clipper designed for self hair cuts that has a built in Adjustable Blade Guard but that is removable so you can still do a 0 length hair cut at the end.

Thanks for the video . Is it easy to wash after use ? Is it waterproof ? Thanks
@ImmersiveTechTV
@ImmersiveTechTV 6 лет назад
Its very easy to wash after using it. After every buzz I give it a quick rinse by letting the water run down the red part and it goes through an opening that removes any hair in there. It's not fully waterproof to be submerged in water but since the blade pops off you can carefully rinse out any hairs inside it.

The shortest guard it comes with cuts down to 1/16" (1.5mm). So if you shave directly without a guard it cuts even closer to the scalp. I have switched over to shaving with no guard so I would say it's slightly shorter than 1/16" with no guard.

After i saw this review i order it from amazon. at $49.00. I received it today, the only thing I am not sure is if it is a brand new or a refurbished one. It came in a brown box with a red tape around it inside the amazon box. I thought it should come in it original packaging. Did you came the same way as mine? why i worry due i saw on amazon some costumer complaining about the battery becoming dead after 1 or 2 months of use. When i contacted amazon they told me that is the way they always shipped it. Am not sure about that.

Hey, yes I can confirm that's how I received mine from Amazon, in a brown box with red Remington tape. I had the same thoughts as you when I first got mine but they probably ship it in a plain box to save on packaging costs. As long as your clipper came wrapped up in tight plastic like mine it is new and not refurbished. I've had mine for over 18 months now and the battery is just as strong as the first day I used it.

On another local (within USA) trip, the clipper was discharged when I arrived at the destination. The power button is right on top and is accidentally pressed when in your luggage. As long as you don’t use it for travel, it will be fine.

Probably because of differences in power supply frequency. North America is 60hz. Other parts of the world are 50 hz

If you want a fade, this is probably not the best shaver to use. I think this is perfect for people who don’t want a fade.

@@Trish_in_Christ wouldn't this one be able to do simple fading? I'm looking for a cordless clipper for buzz cut and this one seems perfect but sometimes i feel like fading a lil bit and idk now

@@marcus716 I haven’t tried fading with this one, but if you think it might work for you, it probably will. My personal suggestion would be to get this one, and then also have a regular clipper to use when you want to fade.

@@Trish_in_Christ Okay thanks. And yes i do have a regular clipper which is still working fine but i'm only considering buying a new one bcs mine is corded. I think this would be a good pick.

@@marcus716 Okay, it seems like a good idea to get this one, then. 👍

I have watched two reviews of these clippers and both reviewers were as bald as a badger. Makes me wonder if I might be safer going to the barber shop for haircuts. To me this is the equivalent of a blind man reviewing sun glasses.

I have the old model and despite the "reviews" that say the battery doesn't last, mine has been in service for 6 or 7 years with no problem. This new one costs twice as much but would still save you money over time if you want a buzz cut. This guy did use the shortest guard. I usually go with #3 or 3/8 inches. New model may be easier to manipulate around ears and back/neck area. It certainly seems quieter than the one I use. Moby Duck eh? Like your handle! PS: Badgers are only bald because they donate their hair for shaving brushes :)

You should have trimmed the sides like you did, but left the center long. It looked nice with the mini Mohawk, but you ruined it by doing the top. Next time do it like I said and I guarantee you will pull mad ass. Like a wise man once said,"you'll get more butts than ashtrays".
