I had the court with silver hardware many years ago, way before the cassie. i LOVED the style of it but i found that vintage glove tanned leather to be soooo heavy... high quality but heavy. I sold it cheaply right before they released the cassie lol. i have a cassie and a cassie 19. the straps will come off on their own if the clips aren't clipped on "backwards". try clipping them with the little clip nubbin facing out.
The vintage bags are definitely SOLID I prefer the durability of pebbled but the look but smooth leather is 😍. I’ll try clipping it backwards! Thanks so much for watching
I have 3 Cassie’s & I love them so much! But I’m planning on adding the court to my collection. It’ll be the closet thing I’ll get to getting a smooth leather Cassie. I just wish Coach would do the Cassie in smooth leather.
Yes my buckle comes attached and I think because the pull latch hits the corner of the bag and opens it up. I have several bags like this and they do the same thing. Tfs
Your Court bag came out in 2012, its a reissue .I can tell by the adjustable strap. The original Court bag doesn't have adjustable strap and came out in 1980s.
I have 2 Court bags and both have adjustable straps. My black one is E9P-9870 (made May 1999 In Costa Rica) and my gray one is G8C-9870 (made July 1998 in the US).
We are bag twins! I have the Cassie in pebble leather and also the pochette Métis. I recently restored a vintage Court bag. My Court strap is not adjustable like yours and is from the early 90s or so.
I have both bags in the same identical prints/colors as you! The court is so timeless, and the leather on it is scrumptious. I found it interesting the Cassie holds a tiny bit more! I have two regular Cassie’s and one Cassie 19! I’d love one more Cassie 19 to even out the bunch lmao!!
Thanks for the timeline on Coach vs. LV bags. Each popular brand has its strength. For me..Dooney for totes/shoppers and satchels, Coach for crossbody like Cassie/Court, hobos like Clarkson and best straps, MK and Fossil for backpacks. LV for status symbol and brilliant marketing. TFS.

Great review, and very informative on the history of the designs! I think I actually have the Court bag in tan that I bought new years ago, but I didn’t know that’s what it was until seeing your review lol. Now I want to dig it out of storage and start using it again!
I have that exact Cassie bag and I love it! My strap has a times fallen off as well. I find if I attach the strap with the clasps in the opposite direction, its better. Plus then the curved part of the clasp wont rub against the bare leather. I had to exchange my bag because the leather wore off from the curve rubbing against the side of the bag. There is a grommet below the rings of the bag for the rounded part of the clasp to fall on and keep the leather protected. Great job comparing the two bags!
Thanks for the comparison! The Court bag was one of my first “luxury” purchases when I got out of college. It’s still one of my favorites, and I’ve been eyeing the Cassie.
