Just for every one out there. This EP was released back in 2015, and from what i understand is that the band did not like it all that much so they got rid of it from all platforms. This is the only place i've found it on. Super good stuff though.
I keep coming back to this EP. This music is just so fucking fantastic. I wish Remo Drive took more pride in their past (and also maybe not kicking out a member that held a major role in the genius of the band)
@@wyattdebiase5352 their newer shit is great imo and it’s what got me into the band but I can’t help but wish I was a fan when this shit came out because holy shit this is their best album tbh
@@cumsquatch8057man, I got to see remo drive when they played a couple of these kinds of unreleased songs as well as their whole greatest hits album before any of their new directional stuff and I can’t say I’ve witnessed anything like it since. It truly is a bit of a tragedy that the direction the band has gone though I respect their creative decision to do what they want with their music
Remo drive kicked out their drummer and changed sounds twice. It only worked once. I like this era and greatest hits. I found all this from a video about their downfall. When I first heard yer killin me I hated it. But it got stuck in my head. This band is so enjoyable and talented. Idk what to say but I thank them for making songs people can enjoy even if they get bored of them
Even after three years of listening to this album periodically, Sleepless still remains one of my top choices from the band's discography. Something about it just feels so raw and vulnerable yet.. stern. I really dig all of Remo Drive's music, and implore anyone unknowing to check out Focus Ring (Erik's early solo project) if they really enjoy this period in RD's music.
I do perfer their old stuff, but I do appreciate the more edgy and heavy vibe of this album. Shame they scrubbed it away as much as they could. It would've been nice if they used it as something to look back on and see how they've improved, not some mistake they had to scrap completely
I know you guys have said you don't like this EP, but I'm gonna thank you for it anyways. It's one of the most comforting albums for the shit I'm going through.
if there was album to define who Remo Drive is and was, this would be the one. When my kids ask to listen to my favorite band, I will play the song Sleepless.
I like this stuff a lot. But if they didn’t go the direction they did we probably would never have encountered this band since this style rarely gets as big as they are now. All I can say I congrats bois to the new single. Congrats to all your releases, they are killer. Even this stuff. Super talented in all ways. Also I want to say, Jim Gray told us y’all were looking to do a split back in the day and I think our bands were in contact at a point about doing so. So this is a dope encounter too. 👌🏼
I don’t really get the people that prefer this over GH, to be honest I think the overall style in GH fits really well with them and all their goofing in the videos. Yeah they may not have kept some things like the heaviness but their songs are still super energetic. This style seems to me a bit generic whereas GH really stands out from generic “emo” records.
Martín Fagundez I don’t really agree to be honest. I’m in a band myself and as a musician I enjoy playing the emo songs more then the happy ones. You feel more and it makes the music mean more. For me it’s therapeutic it helps me process things that I don’t understand. And I really appreciate that. I honestly love this album because of how raw and just real it sounds. It may be emo yes. But I love the human feel to it. It gives you a feeling. And. With me greatest hits never really did that. It’s really nice and upbeat. But the most emotional it got us the ending of crash test rating. And I just wish it had more depth. You may look at this as cheesey emo. But they most most likely put their heart and soul into the lyrics so idk. IMO this is a lot better because of the real ness to it.
Flamerunner451 i never said it did. I said I like this album better then GH, but their newest record SUCKS. It’s Garbo and I’m disappointed they kicked the drummer out
I remember coming back to this EP so many times for the song forgiveness and erase me back in like 2017 and finding it not available for some time. I’m so happy to find it again cause the songs really helped me through some stuff back then and are doing the same now. Thank you for having this up.
This Fuckin' Rocks. Very Title Fight to me.GH is great, but if they released more music like this under a different name I would definitely listen. Like a tamer version of the way Title Fight/Bad Seed do it.
my only dislike for this album are the vocals and how they were projected, though if remo drive recreated it now, it'd probably be my favourite album by them haha
vincent pistoia a month late but don't knock Greatest Hits like that. It was a damned good album, especially for it being a debut. I agree that this is a lot better but that's because I'm a depressed piece of shit and it plays to my mood.
Any Explosions in the Sky/RD crossover fans out there? The drum rhythm in Forgiveness that kicks in at the end near 14:45 is the same beat from The Moon is Down. Love that beat so much, blew my mind to stumble upon it here.
Lyrically, no. I personally like the vibe more but that's because I'm an emo kid at heart. All of their albums have unique sound & different areas of growth and I love them all for different reasons.
Idk why they were so hell bent on getting away from this sound but oh well it’s a shame I guess going the safe indie pop route is a better bet to get popular
Am I the only one that enjoys their Pop Music album? I know it is far fetched from their roots but it has a nice differentiation from what they always do. Sure the music they had on GH was the best and a lot of this songs on this album was great as well. Yet I consider their own experience of live performing GH and Wait For The Sun, which if you think about it just for a thorough moment, you can sometimes feel a sense of annoyance. You can compare this similar to Brendon Urie with I Write Sins. By previously what I mentioned, I can understand and see why Remo Drive kept and got rid of certain songs. To sum up everything, there’s a reason why they made Pop Music and got rid of various songs. It’s that I find the dissatisfaction of Pop Music to be a bit overwhelming and a heavy backlash towards Remo Drive that is quite excessive.
This sounds like all the unique instrumentation on greatest hits was replaced with samples from Basements first album. I like the passion in his vocals but it’s REALLY not enough to make up for it.
Bryan Uvario No, the band removed this EP from all web platforms. They talk about it in an interview; I believe it's the one where they say "like" a lot lol
Zero Fox Given Garage they talk about it in an interview. To sum up: They weren't happy with the quality of recordings on this EP, and they went a different direction with their music; this EP was heavily influenced by Title Fight.
the reasons bands take down music like this is because it doesn't represent what sound they're going for. they dont want to make new fans of music like this. That would lead to a split of the audience. It would be easier and healthier to just delete the music than have a portion of fans constantly telling them to make more hardcore music. You're free to enjoy this older music, but asking them to make more when they clearly dont want to is toxic. Enjoy it by yourself and dont pester the band.
@@daddydonovan4775 I'm sure you're a real tough guy. I'm sure you'd be a okay with people constantly telling you to regress or fall in line with random people's expectations. I hope you never create art and if you do people constantly shit on it
@@DaltonGoesSlow what 2nd album? also i’m pretty sure they’re tired of everyone only loving GH and would rather delete it since they don’t want to make a sequel to it or anything so obviously they don’t like that style anymore
Erik stated in an interview that he wasn’t happy with the music he had made in the past, and that he was tired and wanted to try something new. So doing that = selling out? Wow, makes so much sense omg omg omg
High key that’s a pretty wack thing to say. They are growing up and their tastes change, so their music does too. Doesn’t have anything to do with selling out. It would be selling out if they didn’t create music that they loved playing, but they do!
