Mmm, that snare drum sounds beautiful! Great tuning, what a nice, musical tone. All the heads sound great, of course, but I generally prefer the sound of Aquarian TC if I had to pick one. I think the TC is the most natural, least plastic sounding head - lots of tone with not much attack, you hear the drum more than the head. All the jazz cats use TC, they know. But I use all 3 all the time. (Another GREAT snare head is the Ambassador X, kinda like a G12) You can’t go wrong with any of them... I like an Ambassador on a ‘classic’ looking or vintage drum, it’s just correct. Evans logo is too modern to look right on an old drum. I loved the old Aquarian TC logo, I was upset when they changed it to their now modern looking logo. Oh well, that’s what Modern Vintage and Calftones are for I guess! Both awesome heads on snares and toms. Too many choices today!!
