I have ADHD and OCD, which basically means I'm my own worst enemy. 😂 The thing that helps me keep the level of tidyness I crave, is cupboards. Cupboards above the bed, cupboards above the sofa... I can keep the mess behind a closed door, and it's so much easier to dust. I HATE dust, but I also hate dusting. What can I say, I'm a walking contradiction. The Åkerbär glow-up is amazing!
I am so impressed! First and foremost...with your courage and bravery to attack the trouble-shooting with drilling the hole for your cord in the plastic. And then to adventure and try the weather-stripping. It all made sense watching YOU do it. But I don't know if I would have been brave enough to try any of it without "written" instructions. (I don't have a cabinet...no room in my little place), but I'm still amazed with your skill to improvise and take the initiative to problem solve. Way to go! You did a great job. ☺👌
For stubborn water spots, I like to use rice vinegar! It's usually in the Asian grocery stores, and it works to clean leaves as well! I mix it 1:1 with water. 💚
I have the same small greenhouse. I put a heat mat inside and use it to root cuttings. Works a treat. Also re the strip, I would put it on the metal strip below the one you put in on so the door closes on it. I also look at ordering from Modern but the cost with the exchange rate and the shipping to Australia was out of control 💮
A better option maybe would be to put weather striping on the bottom section with the flap sticking up then when you close the door the striping will seal. Looks great
Ouuuu yay!! I was just hoping for new planty content to watch! I don’t personally have a greenhouse yet, but I love seeing what everyone else does with theirs! It’s great information & inspiration!! 🥰
I also wanted to buy some accessories from Modern Aqua but shipping would have cost me the same price as all the things I wanted to get 🙈 US is so lcuky sometimes, but maybe this will inspire someone locally to make these kind of products too 🤞🏻
I have the smaller version and I filled the bottom with a layer of pebbles. I just add some water every now and then and the humidity sits between 75 and 99 despite no weather stripping and the big gap at the door. I also just added a halo grow light to the top as I’ve put plant on top of it and it was getting a bit dark.
This inspired me so much! I have the older mini greenhouse (Socker) from IKEA and this one is slighly backordered but due back in stock within the next week, so I'll be making the trek to Halifax to pick one up. The acrylic risers is a brilliant idea as well!
I have this greenhouse and absolutely love it! I use mine for growing corms and baby Alocasias. I weather stripped mine at the bottom using black foam stripping. I used the same as you in the door but put it on the bottom facing up so it doesn't catch. Yours looks great, loving the clear shelving 😍
Ever since I first seen this video I have been wanting one of those mini greenhouses and I finally got one today. 🙌 I really think my Maranta and Alocasia props will love being in the greenhouse. I'm also thinking about putting my baby Thai Constellation in it too, but I wanted to see what others thought about this. My greenhouse doesn't have any weather stripping on it, but I do plan to install some soon. I'm not going to completely weatherstrip the whole thing just because I know the plants will eventually outgrow the greenhouse and have to be taken out. So, I want to make sure that transition isn't as harsh on the plants. I plan to use this just for propagations and small humidity loving plants that are struggling in my environment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
