On day 2 as well - Trying to use the remote on a laptop connecting via internet to a serverPC connected to a 7100. I think my issues are with the router and port forwarding.... Thanks for the video.... some things to try.... 73
Got it working finally after a week of trying! Once I figured out my routers public ip and set my home PC to a static ip I went in and created the USB connected radio on my base computer....then created the server on the base. Went to laptop and configured the server on that and finally got the settings correct and bam. Damn this software works very slick once configured correctly!
When setting up server don’t use you call, use the ip of your computer. Try that. Also you will have to open the port in your router (udp) then find your external IP address, before you can use it remotely in a other place.
Thank you Thomas! Yup, I plan to do that when I get back home in a couple of days. I also set up my Asus Router Port Forwarding with the ip address and UDP 50001-50003.
There are some issues with this software. The remote computer should be able to connect to the server computer within the same LAN. PC to PC communication within the same LAN is not restricted on any port..after you turn off the dumb Windows firewall. For the Server PC to respond to the remote PC request some service needs to be running at all times on the server PC. And I cant find any Icom services running on the Server PC. Icom instruction manual of their official videos don't mention anything about this. I've been banging my head with this for 2 days. If local LAN connection works, the remote outside of your home will work too once you port forward the three ports. I can't connect at all within my LAN. My Server PC can connect fine with the USB cable going to the 7300. But no remote PC can connect to the server PC.
@@205a2 I'm gonna do some more testing with some apps and see if I can locate what service should respond to the port request and I will post if I get any luck. Acording to ICOM this should be straight forward.. but for some reason its not.
I use the RSBA1 V2 for my IC7610. Here's a cut and paste on what's new. "New Features With the RS-BA1 Version 2, you can use the dualwatch operation and spectrum scopes with waterfall function as well as observe the MAIN and SUB spectrum scopes. The RS-BA1 Version 2 can also enlarge the panel size (normal or large is selectable), [MUTE] buttons added, clickable indicators to change settings, SUB dial added and RIT tuning knob & TX functions added. The RS-BA1 Version 2 can also still be used with single receiver transceivers. Users who already have the RS-BA1 Version 1 can upgrade to the Version 2. Please note, this is not a downloadable upgrade, but a software disc that needs to be purchased from an authorised Icom dealer. " 73's
Good luck buddy Hope You figure it out...73..Great video looks Software related Settings....Hear you on HF..soon👍🏻 Be listening up on HF Bands my good friend 👍🏻
Hello - it's been a few months down the line now. Did you get this sorted? I had problems with setting up my Icom IC-R8600 for remote operation. It's definitely not straightforward!
Not exactly at this QTH, but in Florida where my IC7610 is setup, it works really well with the RSBA1 V2 software. You got that right about not being an easy setup. Too many parameters that can cause the software not to communicate with the radio. 73's de Capt Darren N4VFR
@@mikegianfrancesco9431 gotcha, I will buy some headset once I have the receiver AF working. I just updated my Port Forward using "My ip" to get the ip address. I did this remotely from DFW using TeamViewer.
It's so hard to get remote working, the USB works but the ports 50001:50003 nitemare Watching if you fix the problem its a pain in the ass 😫 USB to IC7300 works but the remote to my laptop is a problem did you change the port to 40001: 40003 Thanks watching now
