The clamour for the removal of Angel Tax is ringing loud as the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is all set to present the newly constituted first Union Budget of the the third term of the Modi government. Startups have urged for the removal of Angel Tax and tax parity in Long Term Capital Gains Tax (LTCG) on sale of listed vs unlisted shares. The startup ecosystem has also demanded for the removal of double taxation of ESOPs, permission to allow startups to list abroad and reduce regulatory hurdles or reverse flip of domicile back to India.
