I just started removing a manicure today whilst watching this video, and my nails beneath have been GROWING OUT since watching Vanessa's Nails. I had to pause the video to type this because it's kinda a big deal to me since I have chemo nails that wanna bend, peel, and crumble. Soft (bottled) builder gel is working to keep them together, but growing a natural free edge?! I mean, my nails are still short, but regaining a natural free edge isn't something I realistically expected. I can't tell you how many people warned me NOT to mess with my brittle nails, but they were starting to seem like they'd completely peel and crumble off! See, I gotta use baby shampoo/conditioner and even body wash/lotion for infants to keep my hair/skin intact, and a toddler toothbrush, lol, so my gums won't bleed, and an infant hairbrush to keep from pulling out loose follicles; can't use any mousse, hairspray or dyes in my hair either. Only the gentlest (and tiniest amount) of makeup is supposed to be used. Avoid direct sunlight, so take more Vitamin D. (Oncologists are sh!tty beauty experts; 🤣 there should be a little pamphlet about all this for every new chemo patient.) We sent a whole "newborn" baby products care package to my husband's aunt who recently had to start chemotherapy. Nobody tells us this stuff! I'm so excited to have cute pastel Easter nails for Sunday!! 🐰🐣 (Happy Springtime, whatever you celebrate!) At least my nails can be pretty, though I gotta be careful with these otherwise everyday, perfectly normal, household "harsh chemicals" (like gel polish and builder gel) too. In case anyone else has crumbly nails and wants *advice nobody asked for:* I don't generally do much buffing between manicures because the natural nails are already a little rough, but I still push back cuticle. I also don't bring the gel completely to the skin, I stop just a micro-breadth from the sides. Thank goodness for RU-vid! Thank Vanessa for my nail growth!
Omg thank you so much for the compliment ❤️❤️❤️ i’m so happy to hear it has helped you during such a hard time. Little distractions are always a Beni 😍 I wish you nothing but the best
I'm so glad I found your video! I'm just starting out trying to do my nails as I've never kept them long(they're thin so I'm hoping builder gel makes them stronger). After what steps do you cure your nails? Do you have to cure them after the foundation layer before doing the slip+builder gel layers and then again after your gel is done? If you add a top coat at what point in the process is that added? Thank you SO much! :)
