Thank you Unmesh! I'd always shied away from Frequency Separation before, used the patch tool or Healing tool ONLY to fix stuff. You made FS less intimidating & simple enough that I now feel comfortable giving it a go on a regular basis! YOU ROCK!

Great video! Also, to work on the high frequency layer, you could duplicate it, change it's blend mode to normal and clip it to the original high frequency layer. That way you don't need to hide the original and can crop the duplicate to were you made adjustments only, and it'll help reduce the file size.

This actually worked very well for horrendous stains on a photo of an ancient Roman statue. Two millennia worth of stains, gone. If it's gone a bit too far, you can also just reduce the overall opacity of the entire folder, or individual layers.
