Remove Background Noise From Audio. Waves vs Izotope - Which is best?

In this video I compare the Izotope RX10-Advanced De-Noise plug-in with the Waves Clarity VX Pro plug-in to see which one works best to remove background noise from audio. We will be using pink noise from a loudspeaker under my voice to see how well these plugins do at removing the noise from the audio tracks. The results were surprising, even to me.

Since I discovered ANC, it's a struggle to drive without it. It's such a life hack, especially in listening to music in public as an audiophile.

Yes, I admit to using that as well in states where it is legal. It definitely reduces fatigue. I have Bose Quiet Comfort 35 and Airpods Pro. I prefer the Bose for noise cancelling and frequently use them when working with powered equipment. The airpods should be safer to drive with since they have transparency mode, but that kind of defeats the purpose. Thx for this. Im a audio mixer for movies n tv shows and both these tools seem to have what im looking for.

My pleasure. These are both good tools, with Izotope having the edge if you want an all around toolset with spectral editing. Apart from Clarity the Waves Noise Reduction tools are very dated.

Can I use that Guitar tracks?

Waves and Izotope tools will work for hiss and hum in guitar tracks. The Izotope spectral repair tool can get out squeaks and other intermittent noise better than any Waves tool but it is a manual process.

All of your videos before this de-noising one are super noisy. I just can't comprehend how a professional audio engineer or even a long time audio geek can release such terribly noisy content. When I see that I always think 2 things: #1 the person is incapable of producing good audio #2 the person doesn't care about the quality of their work, which is equally bad

HE might be focus on the lesson he's trying to get his viewers to understand other than a little white or pink noise that really doesnt even ematter ...and if you think he's incapable of producing good audio why do you attend his videos on giving advice on audio production ...
