What if 4 of my collections were from 2008 but they were bought from collectors in 2021? I thought they’re supposed to fall off after 7 years?

Thank you for the great information. I live in the state of Rhode Island, would you have a referral for me in my state or possibly in Massachusetts? I am assuming your law firm is not allowed to litigate outside the state of Florida? If that is not true, I am ready to hire your firm accordingly for my case as I am in need of these specialized attorneys in consumer law litigation. I live in Jacksonville FL and an old apartment complex put me in collection for unreturned keys? Which is not true, I gave them the keys back. They were charging the same as rent almost $900 for keys. I really want some help on this, as its the only collection on my credit report, and I am looking at purchasing a home soon. Thanks so much!

Hello, I had a collections on my credit report & I contacted them and wrote on there website why I am disputing there charge and now it’s not on my credit report anymore? Should I contact them asking why they removed it? I’m guessing they’re investigating or should I dispute with the credit bureaus even thought it’s not my report anymore or should I request a debt validation letter from the collections agency ?

What if I don't have the collection on any of the three major credit reports, but the collection is reporting on my LexisNexus report? There is nothing to compare against, outside of it being reported on my LexisNexus and not on my three major bureau reports....

If you can find any way in which the report in not accurate, you might still have a remedy against the debt collector. Instead of comparing to other reports, compare to your own records (for the original account and against your bank) and see if you can find any evidence they're misreporting. You'll also need a copy of your LexisNexus report direct from them.

I have debt collectors that keep changing the dates the account was open which changes when the fall off date should be. Is this illegal?

The open date does NOT affect the roll-off date. You’re thinking of the Date of First Delinquency.

Four years for most credit cards. If you have a signed, written contract, the time limit is five years.

We had a debt collector take money from our business bank account with out us having any debt with them. can we take any action on this?

If they don’t have a right to take money out of your account, then that’s theft. In most states, they can’t do that without some kind of court order. You need to investigate more.
