You taught me in 1 minute, what HIVE helpline could not in 3, 20 to 30 minute phone calls. Even the hive community could not help. Your presentation is smart, well informed and easy to follow. Hive should be paying you to answer their phones. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much. I too didn't the get the suggestion to use a special tool. In fact my problem wasn't getting it off the valve but removing the unit from the M30 once it was off. But your advice that the tab may have to be pressed really hard solved it for me. All I had to do was use some mole grips to press the tab as I have arthritic fingers, and was very easily able to undo the ring with my free hand. I immediately subscribed to see what else you may help me with. So again Karthik thanks so much.
Thank you, Kartik Really helpful and useful video Tried to remove it yesterday but failed and a little birdie told me - look up RU-vid and yours was the first video come up and Bingo I DID IT
Thanks, as you said there wasn’t much help online when all I wanted to do was change batteries but didn’t want to break the valve! Really simple tip but really useful.
Thank you for uploading this helpful video. I had difficulties removing mine but in the end I did. It was harder for me because my thumb had a tiny cut, which was infected, making it harder for me to grip the hive TRV. My question??? When I installed my hive TRV, after installation, following the guidelines on the hive app, my hive TRV felt lose and slightly wobbly, and not secure on the valve, even though I made sure it was hand tight. I noticed, after taking the hive TRV off the adapter, the adapter was screwed onto the valve tightly, but every time I screwed back on my hive TRV it felt wobbly and loose? In the end I took it off and put my manual TRV back on, and that valve was screwed on tight, and wasn’t wobbly/loose like my hive TRV was. I’m going to exchange it because I feel it might be faulty. When I removed my manual TRV before installing the hive TRV on my valve I made sure I opened up the manual TRV fully, on number 5, before unscrewing it off the valve. Revealing the pin which was visible and popped up. I used a coin as well to press on the pin gently to make sure it was moving up and down, but it was tight, and it did loosen slightly but not that much. I’m wondering, either, the hive TRV was faulty, or maybe because the pin was tight it could not lock fully the hive TRV in place, only the adapter??? any ideas? Thank you.
Omg, this is simple but brilliant. These hive valves have been a pain if you need to get them back on. Even British gas engineers have problems with them.
