Do you think the steamer would help prepping old electronics with finished plastic cases? Or is it only really suited to material that peels and is stuck with adhesive?
Hi thank you for this video. I removed the plastic but it left some dark spots like a stain that is not coming off, how do I remove that stain? Is it permanent?
@@johnsevinsky1193 Imagine my problem with a whole 2 metre (6') cargo trailer covered in a blue protective nylon coating that I can't get off and it is not a continuous sheet as the Sun and weather have had a go at removing some of it. I tried using wire brushes attached to drills, slow, very slow. I tried applying acetone with absolutely no effect whatsoever and out of desperation, I applied Petrol to one removed door laid out on the ground and put a match to it, success, but left scorch marks on the grass and I don't recommend this process. I don't have a steamer either so going to have to live with it. The BIG question is WHY do they put this stuff on in the first place when surely a very thin coating of a mineral or vegetable oil would suffice and be kinder to the Planet and Environment. Just too easy an answer I guess.
