Hi all. Having chosen my some of my old metal Citadel miniatures, today's task is to clean the mini's up and strip away the old paint. I used a cellulose thinner but I understand that anything with acetone should work - like nail polish.regadless of what was said on the internet, I found the process took about 15 mins per mini. Know of a faster way? Let me know because I've still got more to clean up and any help here would be welcome!
Great video, very well explained. I shall be doing the same thing shortly with a lot of my old warhammer 40k models from the 90s. So many badly painted orks and imperial guard to do!
Hey Ali, I do enjoy your videos as I must be a similar age, finding my way back into the hobby. I too am lazy, and buy cheap stuff from China. I've used detol, and meths, and even coke with degrees of success, but it's those deep recesses that anoy me, and some paints get really annoyingly sticky. I think goblin green on a black undercoat is the worst I've found from my eBay 'wins'.
Thanks, Jamie. These were figures that I actually had lying around in the attic since.. well..way too long, and I think that maybe I was lucky that the paint had already begun to come away from the mini's due to the condition they had been kept in. I remember how relaxing and creative I felt painting so I really do want to get back into it soon...
