Very rough bright objects can create a lot of noise and fireflies in your render which typically would be reduced by increasing the render samples/quality but that also increases the render time. In this quicktip you’ll see how lowering the “Max Secondary Ray Intensity” render setting can not only remove this noise but also reduces render time!

Without this video I would never have guessed what the "Project" tab in Redshift Light might mean or how it is used! "Project"/exclude should be better renamed to "Passes Through".

But it has an include option. And I think its project as in projector, not project as in a work-project.

@@stemfourvisual Exactly everybody would think "project" means work project inside a computer program. This tip is crucial for interior renders with glass window. You want the imperfection and distortion of the glass to show up on outdoor objects but you don't want the sunlight lighting interior objects through the glass window to cause bunch of noise unless with much longer render time or denoiser. Without this tip, we are forced to use one area light per each window pasted on the window to light interior instead of sun & sky which is more natural and you can animate.
