In this video I try multiple methods of removing heavy varnish and rust from a generator fuel tank. The fuel in this tank has been sitting for probably 15 years and there is a solid layer of varnish sludge on the bottom and the inner top of the tank is rusted. This is the 2nd in what will be a 3 part series of me bringing a left for dead generator back to life.

that is a lot of determination, the issue is the crappy alloys used in these China tanks & Carbs, I had one that did the same, I replaced the carb & strapped a plastic gas tank on the side from an old lawn tractor, I have an older Coleman Generator with a genuine Honda Engine, the thing is at least 20 years old, sits with gas in it all the time, it starts & runs great & not a spot of rust in the tank or filler screen or cap while the cheap China Knock off generator I bought looked just like your tank after sitting with fuel in it for 3 years.
