These homeowners contacted Basement Systems of New York because they noticed that their block foundation wall nearest their sidewalk up to the front door was bowing. Because of the issue, they were having they wanted to repair the damage before it became a bigger headache and cost to fix.
To fix the problem at hand we had to temporarily brace the home from inside the garage in order to make sure that our Installation Specialist were safe throughout the entirety of the project. We then started excavating the earth near their foundation wall in order to gain better access to the foundation wall. Finally, we knocked down part of their old block foundation wall. Once this was completed our Installation Specialist started to rebuild their foundation wall before lowing the home back onto the foundation
Since having us rebuild part of their block foundation these homeowners have noticed that their home feels structurally sound again, as well as the sounds they were hearing before have disappeared. More importantly than anything though they do not have to worry about the home falling down.
Give us a call at 845-361-1159, or visit us at basementsystemsofny.com to schedule your no-obligation consultation with one of our expert Design Specialists. Problems around your home don't get better with time, they get better with us.

Why did wall need to be replaced?
@Basementsystemsofny
@Basementsystemsofny Год назад
The wall was at a point where it was not structurally sound and was a hazard to the home and everyone inside of it. We have several different products that we are able to use in order to rectify a failing foundation wall, unfortunately, this wall was past the point of using any of those products and the only solution was to remove and replace it.

Great video! Why not reused the old bricks?
@Basementsystemsofny
@Basementsystemsofny Год назад
Thank you. We do not reuse blocks because they are not structurally sound due to the high water content that they have taken on due to the soil. Using blocks that are not structurally sound would guarantee failure points again.

How long did you need to wait for the concrete to cure before removing the temporary posts?
@Basementsystemsofny
@Basementsystemsofny 7 месяцев назад
it varies on a case-by-case basis dependending on variables such as weather, thickness of the concrete, etc. On average about twelve to twenty-four hours.

Hello Dont uderstand why you didnt fill corner blocks with concret and put vertical iron bars inside. No hard filings just interesting. Greetings
@Basementsystemsofny
@Basementsystemsofny Год назад
all blocks and joints were filled with concrete during the building process. Some angles may not have allowed for it to be shown. Rebar was installed once we reached a certain height, unfortunately, the wrong type of rebar was loaded onto the truck and someone had to run back to the shop to grab the proper number of rebar before installing it.
