Hey boat friends! Once again we're diving into the world of boat maintenance, specifically the removal of antifouling.
In this case we are removing the previous coats to investigate the failure of the epoxy barrier coat due to osmosis.
Osmosis is a phenomenon that can cause significant damage to your boat over time. It occurs when water molecules pass through the fiberglass and resin, causing the fibers to swell and the resin to soften. This can lead to blisters, delamination, and even structural failure.
Usually the process of removing antifouling can be brutal and gruesome, but hopefully with my antifouling removal techniques, your boat can be done in no time!
Antifouling is a crucial layer that protects your boat from marine growth and barnacles, ensuring a smooth and efficient ride. However, over time, this layer is no longer effective, and it's important to replace it.
Remember, regular maintenance is key to keeping your boat afloat. So, don't hesitate to give your boat a little TLC, and you'll be sailing in no time.
Thanks for tuning in, and don't forget to follow and subscribe for more boat maintenance tips and tricks. Until next time, happy sailing!
