Very nice video, I replaced my actuator looking at this but now the exterior door handle doesn't open the door. I noticed pulling the exterior door handle doesn't pull the white cable u showed in the video ..any suggestions on how I can go about triaging and fixing this? I have a 2012 bmw 328i
Yes, looking at the other vids its held in by those bolts (Edit): there is a single screw behind the outer door handle that holds the bracket. Once removed, the whole device can be removed by unclipping the bowden cable. You do not need to undo the three bolts and take out the whole lock assembly.
Hi did you find the part number for the drivers side cable on your 1 series. I need the same for a 2014 model. If you have the part number that would be great
My cable snapped just like in the vid. This is really fiddly to do: 1 - the mirror/window controller has a clip on the thinner side, pry with a tool and then push the clip 2 - the assembly is held by the screw under the door handle 3 - refitting the outer door handle is a nightmare. First make sure the alignment is correct and the barrel lock can be screwed back in as its hard to get the angle for the screw correct. Then remove it and fit the handle first, it needs to latch so u need to pull the connector outwards, either a hook or a long screw driver from the hole from the inside of the door (look up at an angle through key hole) can be used to push/pull it open and then slide in the door handle. This is really difficult 4 - refitting the connector for windows, make sure its seated
Try to open the windows with the remote control and then the door from the inside, if it doesn't work, see that I have a video on my channel on how to open the E90 door if it's locked. Success
I have bmw f30 on drivers side it won’t open from outside it feels like it doesn’t have resistance, I’m guessing it’s because of this, the only thing I have to say about the video is take out the music and walk us through every step, and another is idk where the other cable goes u didn’t show us the inside and where it’s going to go, otherwise nice video
@@Iceyo0307deathboy yeah it was the outer door handle cable, the video helped a lot, once I took it out I learned how the mechanism worked so it started to make sense and get easier 👍🏼
