Hello! If you have had any analog joysticks or anything containing a potenciometer for a long time you may have already experienced that it sometimes becomes noicy or unstable. In my case it was the volume control wheel on my old headset that made a distorted sound each time you touched it. Since I am learning soldering I thought it would be a fun challenge to try to bypass or remove it.

I'm looking for a gaming headset that does *not* have volume control on it. My last several gaming headsets all failed at the volume control module on the cord. I control my volume with the keyboard so having volume control on the headset is pointless. It's really frustrating to pay a bunch of money for something that fails because of a feature I don't need.

@@GameFeverOnline Yw! Not gonna lie I had a problem with my headphones yesterday (The cable got messed up) and I was gonna fix it the next day, and then I saw this vid haha, gave me the motivation to actually fix the headphones >:]

In theory you could, but then soldering those little cables with insulation would be much harder. Also, mine has a button for tuning off the microphone and I wanted to preserve that.

could you not just remove the wires from both ends and connect them together?

I did not do that because soldering each of these tiny little cables with insulation is a lot more difficult. Also, removing the box removed the mic on off switch and it would look bad having the splice in the cable.

If there are no active components on it, it should. It would be much harder though, as those cables are really really tiny. My headset also had a toggle switch for the mic that I wanted to keep using. gl

@@GameFeverOnline ok i did connect wires without pcb but it didn't worked only the led light works no sound from them i have kotion each g2000 headphone i got them for free cause my friend accidentally destroyed the controller and gave it to me that's why i asked

@@techmynews9495 If your headset has usb plug, then don't. Actually you can, but you have to re-wire all the cables to jack interface.

You can try to solder each of the aires directly, but that is a lot more work.
