Yes this was extremely helpful. My old Cavvy was like a Fisher-price set up so when I saw that you had to pry off part of the dash in the Elantra I got discouraged. Thanks for the video!
There are only 4 screws then the bezel pulls out with a little prying and effort.. The bulbs by the ashtray must be twisted then pulled out. The wiring adapter purchased on ebay exactly matches the wire colors of the Kenwood stereo, so they solder directly together. I didn't buy the installation kit since the little storage tray screws to the radio and it all fits perfectly.
New York Dashes for the wood kit. It is real wood and warms up the gray plastic interior a little.( Spinners next !) The trick to removing the large plastic piece is to pull it hard !!
I swear videos like this are so NOT helpful! I mean it's better than nothing, but I hate when the instructor is like "ah most of it is already done". How is that supposed to help us. You didn't even show how you detached the clock wires and the 2 next to them. Oh right, because it was already done. Well its not done already for us!! Sorry, this is just kinda frustrating me, ya know?
I posted this because I was kinda frustrated. ( I'm not an instructor) I commented that you squeeze the releases to detach the wires. You can see them when you are in there. I didn't want to make an actual time video as it would be 15 minutes long ! I didn't set out to make a training video. I just had it apart and thought that I could help someone else. Listen closely and most of the questions people ask are answered. The main thing is that when you have the screws out you have to pull hard to release the whole panel.
