This video explains how I was able to remove the sensormatic supertag that the store forgot to remove at the time of checkout. They are problematic if it is too inconvenient to return to the store. In this case the store was in another country!

Bought a sweater in the US, returned to Europe and realised the tag was still on. Went from shop to shop here, but the system seems to be different and the tag would not come off. I have tried with the nail, but that did not work. I saw Don's video which described precisely what to do. I drilled the whole at the position recommended and the tag was open 10 seconds later. Thanks a lot!!

Perfect! Drilled the hole right where you showed, turned the drill bit around and pushed. It popped right off! My wife was so impressed. Thank you!

After receiving pants ordered on-line from overseas with the Security Tag ( same tag as video) still attached followed the clear instructions and in one minute tag released with no damage to clothing - brilliant Thankyou!

A nail with a normal point will be problematic. Grind the point of the nail to a wedge so it can push the stop gate down on it's way in (like the machine does), then it pops right open. Scroll saw blades work great too, the follow the channel better and easily get past the stop gate.

Nail didn't work for me either. Used a hammer and screwdriver tip to split the thing in two right about where you made the hole.
