Thanks so much for this video! On my citizen watch some of the little minute emblems fell off and just kept rattling in the watch until i found this video.

You should say what movement this is at the beginning

Thanks! Is that crown in the first position, or time set position when removing?

Thanks for your extremely informative video! I might have too aggressively depressed the crown stem release (push style Detent) on my ETA 2836-2 movement. I've removed the crown & stem from my movement. But, the ; it's no longer visible. Please save me -- How do I resolve this?

I have a felsa 4018 movement in a Swiss Emperor Deluxe vintage watch. Would I use the same technique, also do you know if the movement can be removed without having to take of the acrylic crystal. Thanks

Thanks for the help. How do you manually stop (unwind) the Miyota movement, other than waiting till it stops?

We have a video walkthrough for that here: forum.buildyourownwatch.com/threads/chapter-6-de-energizing-the-mainspring.11/

Hi, My 8215 (in my diver) stopped working after a shower. Any chance I can service myself (I'm pretty meticulous but completely noob)?

Hello @fabts4. It would be very possible for you to swap out to a new movement. The 8215 is inexpensive enough to buy new. If you watch our videos you would get a rough idea how to swap in a new one. Their will be some minor differences in the construction and process.

I'm gonna watch the videos and see if I can get familiar enough with he movement. Any spare part website to advise? (I'm in Europe)

Esslinger.com is one of the largest suppliers of watch tools and parts, definitely check them out. You can also find the 8215 on eBay an elsewhere.

I am going to say don't. My experience with even simple things has been very unpleasant.

Aren't you supposed to pull the crown out to it's furthest position ie date adjustment position before you remove it? I've got a miyota 8215 movement from Citizen I want to remove the crown. Am I correct or not. Is it ok to remove the crown while in the winding position or do I have to pull it out to the date setting position first.

I wish someone would cover that topic of which position for which movement, at least for most common movements.

Hey Jas, can you contact Rick directly, www.buildyourownwatch.com/contact, it could be that the minute hand fell off the pinion and needs to be re-applied but we would like to better understand your issue to determine how to help. Thanks!
