40% of the population is overweight. Although that is not my struggle, I regularly cringe when TBC punches down at them. Overweight people are perhaps the last group it is still acceptable to make fun of. Ive been think about what we find funny. Comedians say that nothing is off limits. The answer was...In the United States, black women have the highest rates of obesity compared to other racial/ethnic groups [1]. Approximately 60% of black women are considered obese based on a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30 kg/m2, and black women are 70% more likely to be obese as compared to Non-Hispanic white women [1, 2]. So the 60% number was stuck in my head when I read your comment but once again you are right overall population is 40%. I'm still shocked it's that low.

Those types of jokes weren’t or aren’t exclusive to Oprah or celebrities in general. The same way she got teased for her weight Rosie O’Donell got it just as bad back then. Whoopi was called ugly, Wesley Snipes was joked on for being dark skinned, and even now People literally go viral and become famous due to some abnormal physical trait. Getting joked on for physical appearance happens to every single one of us and it starts very early in life. A lot of times the kid that was mean to you initially becomes your best friend soon after . some people can get past it while others hold onto it. The best thing for your mental health is to let it go.

I agree. She’s literally saying at 70 she’s not taking this shame and embarrassment into her next decade which means that hurt is old and it runs deep and the best response is to laugh and say how great of a joke it was since it still hurts. Not true. A felon here in Milwaukee got bailed out after murdering someone by another felon/dealer and nobody knew how he got the money. Maybe don’t just go on a app and talk nonsense
