Remy Martin Louis XIII $3000 Bottle Review 

Believe it or not, I actually bought a $2500 slab of Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Prime Rib. I filmed it last year as my stupid purchase, but the footage was out of focus and unusable. That’s a great deal! I just paid $3850 after tax! And it didn’t even have the outside suitcase. It was the last one on display inside a glass case at Costco 🤦‍♂️but mine says 100 years

You confirmed what I have suspected. The bottle and packaging is totally what you are paying for. About a decade ago I paid $300 for a bottle of Remy Martin XO in a very nice bottle. My friends and I had a very sophisticated evening drinking it. I really didn't feel that it was all that different from any inexpensive Cognac. It crosses my mind now, that if I bought a cheaper bottle of Cognac and filled the XO bottle with it, everyone (that I know) would be convinced that it's the real thing. That's what you should do when you finish the Cognac in that beautiful bottle. Just get a much cheaper bottle of Remy Martin and refill the bottle. You will continue to impress friends and family and eventually feel that you got your money's worth. Thanks for this extremely honest review!

The price is crazy as hell, but Remy is still the truth!! Now I haven't spun no bread like that on liquor, but trust me everybody has spun money on something they don't like or is not worth it.

You probably want it to breath a little longer, Louis 13 is the smoothest thing I ever had with alcohol in it, but is it worth $3000, probably not.

bottle made of baccarat, 24k gold on top. what do you expect? more than 40 years old cognac. $3000 is really worth it. especially for decor.

Fine cognac deserves to be sipped. Knocking back “shots” is no way to consume such a rich liquor. Let the spirit sit one minute in the glass, after pouring, for each year in the cask. A 40 year old spirit needs a good half hour to fully relax into any glass after nearly half a century sleeping in a warehouse barrel. Popping it open & doing shots (as if it was Jim Beam) is dishonoring everything special about the rare bottle. It may NOT be worth $3k but damn, give the liquor a decent chance to develop before you slowly savor the fragrance and sip the pour. Evaluating even drugstore cognac successfully requires that you consume the beverage appropriately.

You bought a bottle of brandy in a $1200 bottle that’s set inside a $600 box that was sent to you with about a $300 shipping bill.

Get yourself a small glass for boiled water. Get your snifter and pour 1.5 ounces of Cognac and let rest for 30 minutes. while resting boil water and pour in small glass do not fill to top. Place snifter of cognac on top of glass with boiled water and let warm cognac. Sip and enjoy the full flavor trust me you’ll learn why you paid 3k

Lol at all these connoisseurs shaming. I actually appreciate the casual point of view in contrast to the more you're paying. Is it his fault he'd prefer the $60 XO? If I'm buying a $1.7 mil Bugatti but a $300k Lamborghini or Ferrari is just as nice, why am I spending the extra dough for show? I don't care if it took 10 years, 100 years, or 1000 years to distill if the taste is barely noticeable? It's not $2940 more noticeable!

The price of Remy Martin 1738 is around 80 my recommendation is to add 40 dollars more and buy a Delamain pale and dry or buy Tesseron Lot 76. Those two cognacs I mentioned are even better than Remy XO and are cheaper.

I did buy one which cost $4grand and the tax was $410...... So you're lucky to have saved the taxes however it's a really good Cognac 🥳🥰😘

You can hear the regret in his voice made me sad but you only live once but as an alcoholic and someone who's tried alotta alcohol your drinking this for the status there are cheaper alternatives for that experience but gotta give I a sub cuz you bought it

if you made the bottle last a month and enjoyed it with a cigar or two , saying you could buy a holiday or motorbike for the same price is defeating the point really because drinking such an exclusive thing is an experience in itself .

Most expensive drink is the ritz side car , 1 glas 1780 dollars . As it uses cognac made of the pre-phylloxera grapes of the 1800s One of these bottles cost well over the 6500 dollars.

I am on my twelfth bottle... This represents history in a bottle and in my opinion definitely worth every penny. Along with Hennessy Richard Hennessy, it will always remain in my cellar. Only to be shared with those who appreciate it...

Obviously, a 3000$ cognac is not for regular people, it's a matter of prestige and not quality if you ask me. On the other hand, I'm drinking 1738 on a regular basis and it's a very, very good cognac for normal people - it's reasonably priced and has a very nice taste. For me it's probably the best thing you can buy, not even the 3 times more expensive XO isn't 3 times better in my opinion. But guys, honestly, you don't drink cognac in shots. You just don't. It's a waste. Try to enjoy it differently, there are plenty of ways to drink it, you will appreciate it more, I assure you.

This is a super luxury product for people with more money than sense and the presentation is undoubtedly impressive. But unless you’re a true connoisseur the value proposition over a bottle of XO is extremely poor.

I too would like to allow myself to make an extremely dumb purchase a year but ill prob stick with the $600 version instead since I'm not an actual drinker

I had a few shots of this stuff at my girlfriends uncles Christmas house party. They had no idea how much the bottle cost and they were shocked when I told them. It was good, but nothing crazy. I’ve seen shots of this stuff go for $350 at luxury hotels/bars. Thank you for a casual review, it was very entertaining lol.

Expensive Cognac is like Expensive Parfum for women. To truly enjoy a masterpiece you have to really appreciate the inherent value and craftsmanship of artwork and product.

I wouldn’t buy the whole bottle but I would buy a glass on a most special occasion and one for my significant other. But I heard the bottle by itself has considerable resale value. You guys are the first I’ve heard who weren’t blown away by the taste. I would definitely like to try this one day, just on the strength of the sheer experience of doing so. Tried this for my birthday at Ruth Chris and to my it gave me a hint of roses. But I paid $150 for the glass lol

Had this for my 50th, it’s a special experience, I think there are something like 155 flavour compounds. Pretty complex stuff. Not sure if I could taste the difference between this and an XO.

i have the same bottle. well it like chanel and hermes bags, rolex watches. very expensive but it’s all about the brand. They all buy the looks and the brands not the taste. Maybe only pro can tell how good this bottle is.

I inherited a bottle of Louis XIII but have yet to have the balls to open it. The most expensive bottle I've ever opened and drank is Johnny Walker Blue and I had the same impression you did upon taking my first sip..."tastes like alcohol" 🤣😂 Was definitely underwhelming, not worth the price and, I expect, that Louis XIII would be just about the same experience.
