Great review and pairing! At my favorite watering hole in Chicago (which also used to be the best cigar bar in the city before Federal prisoner Gov Blagojevich banned smoking) the person who bought the last drink from the bottle of Remy XO got to keep the bottle. 🥃
I had a glass of it and a Cohiba a couple years ago to mark the anniversary of my friends dying in a car accident. Definitely don't remember it being this flavorful. Might have to try it again. Those of you complaining about the price, A, compared to truly fancy cognac it's cheap, and B, I can tell you that 20 ish dollar mini bottles of RM xo are available.
I was gonna give out to you for calling CONnac COOnac, but considering I just saw a New Zealander have a cognac channel mixing ice and doctor pepper into Hennessy X.O's I will let you away with it. :)
Love your hair. Love your classical face. Love your mannerism and tastes. Would you keep a request of mine? Taste some Balvenie 40 & 50 years old. I am in a situation where I have to select between the 40 years old & the 50 years old. I couldn't get my hands on any sample of them here in London. If you do keep my request, I would send you a bottle of both as an appreciation gift. Thanks.
If I ever have a Yacht... a bottle like that Remy and a case of Perla De Mar cigars.... I don’t even care to leave port... I would probably not even leave the dock unless someone wanted a ride or until I needed... sorry you had to pause your pairing to continue your program and to speak about the experience... I figure that if you simply just went about poured, sipped, and smoked without saying a word I could live the experience on just your body language and facial expressions alone.... Out of curiosity... what did you eat or snack after? Cheese? Fruit? Grain? A Tomahawk Steak?
I am in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on my overnight. It is 27 degrees this morning. I do not fly until 5:00 this evening. Since I am having to fly, I can not enjoy any alcohol, but there is a lounge a half mile from the hotel, so here at 10:30 or so I will strike out for it and have a cigar! I sure could use a Tavel humidor!
