Joe died just before Ren got sick. Ren got really sick. There's a video he posted from that time and you can tell he's struggling, he thinks he's going to die and he's losing hope. When you watch that, and you hear these words it's hard not to tie Ren's survival to Joe. Ren knew what the loss would be if he passed, so he kept fighting even though he was in so much pain. Ren fought for years before things turned around. I really think Joe saved Ren and together they make his music so special.
Calgary is beautiful. Ren accentuated it. Looks like he’s filmed some vids with Sam in the Calgary area that are coming up. Also, the city scenes in Su*cide are Calgary.
This was filmed on Scotsman’s Hill. I have watched fireworks from here many times. It’s nice seeing my city how I see it every day. This is a beautiful tribute ❤❤️🩹
I’ve stood on that hill in pain more than once in my life in Calgary. There is something about it that is soothing, for a while, especially at night. I hope it brought Ren some of the same feeling, glad he found it - what a setting for an obviously deeply personal tribute. The man is very special.
This video was recorded in Calgary Canada where Ren was getting treatment. He flew back to the UK to film some videos and he went to his hometown in Wales to deliver that check from his fundraiser for the RNLI (the lifeboat crew that searched the water for Joe the night he jumped). While he was in Wales Ren visited Joe's parents who he hadn't seen since Joe passed and played them this video.
@@chrispartiRen said it was recorded in Calgary in the video description. That stadium in the background is where the Calgary Flames (hockey) play I believe.
Usually it’s very easy for me to understand Ren’s words when he’s singing but on this one, where he’s doing those beautiful runs, it’s hard to make them out. From his post of the lyrics, the words are: Burn, burn, burn on Burn, burn, burn on I interpret that to mean that Joe’s light will always keep burning and will never go out. Makes the song even more beautiful to me.
This one is special. Stunningly beautiful. He took a song of pain and turned it into one of healing. The way, only Ren can. I highly recommend reading about this on his community page. It's important to hear it in HIS words. Thank you for this. I knew the vocals would thrill you. Have a fabulous day.
Ren making us all cry again. 😢 What a heartbreaking, emotional, beautiful song. At the end - when he goes acapella and stops playing and speaks - so emotional and powerful- I cry every time. Amazing tribute to Joe. Yet a message of hope and preserverance. I needed this one. Thank you for another great reaction. Take care.💛
If i'm not mistaken, the background is the Calgary skyline and you see the Calgary Flames arena called scotiabank saddledome so this must've been recorded in Calgary while he was getting treatment i reckon. beautiful song. this song made me cry at the intro first time i heard it.
Thanks for your reaction to For Joe by Ren. You are a treasure in this world. Keep dancing in the sunshine cuz you are the blessing of my sunset peace out.
Sorry for the loss of your lil brother and thank you for the wonderful work that you do. I always look forward to the parts where you mimic Ren’s vocal runs and you never ever let us down!
I’ve been on a journey to learn as much as I possibly can about Ren, his music, his message and his impact. It’s been a few months now and some of his songs, usually the ones most personal to him in my opinion, almost don’t even require a sequence of lyrics. The instruments he chooses and the way they are played, along with beautifully paired vocal notes from operatic to jazz, have more of an impact on their own. I can’t tell you how many times I need to run back a video because his signature openings put me in an emotional trance. Even when I tell myself to suppress the emotional response to focus on the lyrical content, I get sucked right back in without realizing when it happened. 😮
Not many reactors focus on Ren's vocals. I can feel it even more when you do. Ren said his next album wont be rap....I can only imagine what it will be❤
He did record a live song on the bridge Joe sadly jumped with Chinchilla. ( I forgot how to be me live) amazing song. Great reaction sir. I’m enjoying your content 👌👍
What’s crazy is after a year of being misdiagnosed he was in so much pain. He told his mom I can’t go through another year of this and I just wanna let you know now basically telling her if they don’t sell this in a year I’m gonna solve it.. saw the impact that it had on Joe family he couldn’t do it himself because he couldn’t do that to his family. So the size of his heart saved his life and look at how he flourishing. I hope the second part of his life makes up for the first half.!
Just another genuinely reaction from you . I love watching your emotion explode. Ren is crying, you cried, what I can do...?also cry. Thank you, Yes you have right, Ren is truth.
I see so many similarities between Ren and Dimash even though they are polar opposites regarding styles and upbringing. One is more Polished and refined from a wealthy stable background whilst the other is more raw and visceral from a troubled background and yet both are equally unique and original and unafraid to test the boundaries. Both play multiple instruments and can cover all genres of music. Both are great performers and are exceptional at captivating the audience. I can listen to both all day and eagerly await new content from both.
Is it really because you audibly said the S word that is another Ren song title, that an actual popup came up on RU-vid warning for explicit content? RU-vid has gone wild, it is so silly how this reaction gets a notice. If that's something you put on yourself then disregard this, either way awesome reaction to a powerful song.
You mentioned to S…..cide word too frequently in this reaction. YT has put a content warning on it and it’s almost impossible to watch, I had to try and make it play at least 20 times before it would actually run. YT are concerned about what they perceive to potentially be encouraging self harm, so there are some words it’s wiser not to use.
Good lord. In the song Suicide, Ren said the word like 30 times! The point being that we have to stop hiding this. We have to speak openly of it. Maybe by speaking it over and over we can bring this out into the open and deal with it.
