Loved the intro. You have set the bar now...... I get the impression that Ren's next album may suit Anthony's preferences better, since I understand it may be more oriented to singing. I have heard Ren say his rapping fans may be disappointed by the next album. I see singing as a bit of a throwaway thing for Ren. He is so dammed good at it, that he doesn't feel the need to prove to anyone he can sing' yet as an audience, we get so excited when we just hear tiny snippets of him singing. think back to Hi Ren and everyone gets so excited on hearing about 6 words in total, actually sung. We want More....! Ren has mastered the strategic art of drip feeding his listeners by always holding a bit in reserve. Just figuratively flexing his muscles.

This is my favorite ren song and I’ve been following him for over a year now. Absolutely love it! I play it everyday while doing my work around the house. I’m 63, ren is just what I needed at this time in my life. Great reaction from two of my favorite reactors. So cool you teamed up.

ANTHONY RAY!!! you figured out Ren's formula! the words he is singing are the beat to the Beatles come together! there is another song he does where his words are the beat to Michael Jackson's smooth criminal! I can't remember which at this moment (I'm getting old) but it took me two weeks to figure out which Michael Jackson song it was. it was maybe one of the songs from freckled angels.... Ren seems to increase/add new challenges for himself incrementally. Every song seems to have a new element. He's always trying to push himself to do new things. And he writes those challenges into his music which forces him to do the new things. It's an admirable way to learn.

You guys reminded me of a busking video of Ren and Sam. Sam raps cleaning out my closet while Ren goes faster and faster. Then Ren sings his heart out with MGMTs kids cover. This track should have gotten Ren on the map. Beat isn't crazy, flow is crazy, chill vibe but deep lyrics.

Rens new stuff for the most part is good but I prefer a lot of his older stuff. I think Ren is an outstanding singer and rapper. My favorite from Ren is when he sings like he does in Wade in the Water. I really hope he puts out an album that is mostly soul.

Watching/listening at work and trying not to lol...not working...you guys are a trip 😂

I definitely get what AR was saying. I love pretty much everything has put out and i very much enjoy his rapping but his singing, harmonies, melodic stuff and the rap/singing hybrid stuff is absolutely next level. Now that i think about it, a lot of my favorites from Ren are the more melodic stuff like Ready For You, Heretic, Humble, Blind Eyed etc. Not to take anything away from his rapping 'cause he's a dope lyricist and he can absolutely spit, i just enjoy the singy stuff more.

I love this. Ren can do so much. I have always gravitated towards the genre-benders. Side note: Since I'm 50 - would that make me a cougar? Truth be told, I can't be mad if you want a zoo. I once had a stable. You do you!

Ren said somewhere that this album was rap focussed so tracks being released are rap focussed but next album would have another focus. So have a feeling going forward we will see more dining focussed tracks❤❤😂

It's a bit like listening to Eminem's "Infinity" album all this time later after Eminem has gone through multiple phases of growth and refining.... it doesnt make that album any less awesome for what it was... but it was in the adolescence of his music. Same here... I love the whole song for what it is... but some of the lyrical spazzing is harder to follow than his much newer stuff like "Murderer"... because he's grown so much in 8 years... but as a song, "Hold On", along with "It's Alright", "Dear God", "Love Music (pt 1)", etc are still so good message wise... there is wisdom in these songs even if his pen game wasnt as good as it is now... and of course his pen game is better now. Classic Ren.... he is one of the few artists ever that is both fresh and classic in just a decade of writing... and a lot of it has to do with, imo, his ability to redefine and remix genres at will, his intelligence and wisdom at the cost of illness-forced isolation, and his inherent talent at expressing himself in ways that are easily digestible by his listeners. As well as his love for classic styles that just arent heard anymore in new music...almost every song it seems is like a homage to 90s music and older.
