The Who did it in my generation, which he’ll have listened to - his musical refs are deeply historical, and also multi genre - love it. I hear Beatles, come together in the chorus.
@spruce381 He's a Master of Music if ya ask me! Very Deeply tied to all sorts! Just as any serious musicians autta be! In my 55 years as a rock guitarist... I've never seen anyone like him!
It's amazing how a song this good has been buried so deep in his catalogue that I'm only now hearing it. And I heard a dozen new (to me) bangers of his today already. He's got a lot of great songs. And that beat was perfect, it let the lyrics be heard.
I know. I just learn of him a couple of months and I am still finding his music even his older ones. This is is like 8 years ago when he came out with this. But glad I found him on TickTok. Then came here.
Just wanted to say THANKYOU. for introducing his music 🎶 to me . 60 on Saturday and appreciate still getting to listen to great music. Ren and Sam Tompkins breaking generational barriers. Great music has no age barriers
I cannot believe I just discovered Ren about a month ago. What an amazingly gifted talent! Haven't heard this song yet either, so thanks for covering it my man! Love your channel brother.
So happy to see you react to older tracks too - Ren is fantastic! I think when he was about 25, Ren was so very ill - these songs definitely reflect his pain so powerfully!
It's sometimes hard and it's tough holding on. Holding on every damn day, what's the alternative? My doctor, yesterday, finally decided on a new medication for me to help with my pain of osteoarthritis that also won't damage my heart. So it's going to be another few months of holding on trying it out, hoping no side effects, and hoping for the best. My heart has issues so it's tough getting the right medication that is safe. So I understand Ren so perfectly and can relate, some days it's like he says just F it. Not getting enough sleep or some days no sleep at all! Sorry to dump all this here in a comment, but I am STILL holding on. 74 years young and in chronic pain all the time, kinda makes you wonder. . . . why keep holding on? Ren has a beautiful heart, a sensitive soul and a brilliant mind and I just adore him! Thank you Jamel for doing this one today. I needed it!
#Ada M. 67 yrs old here (young in my mindset n not so young my body) so appreciative of the truly independent artists...Ren is a once in a lifetime rare breed, who is reaching to ALL walks of life around this little planet called 🌎 He reaches down inside himself n bares it all unashamedly n reaches out a hand offering hope to those who desperately need it...His only requirement is to pass on the hope n spread the luv to ur fellow human being😊
@@RoxyKandyKoRn55 I agree wholeheartedly, He is like a box of chocolate, maybe just not as tasty, due to some of his thoughts floating around in his head. He surprises most of us with the skills he has that can draw you in. And he does DRAW you in, makes you LOOK makes you THINK makes you want to KNOW more. Ren is an enigma, although not a true enigma according to a "dictionary", since he tells us more about himself and his life than a true enigmatic person would, he isn't mysterious he doesn't hide anything. But he surprises most of us with his diversity. Thank you for your comment. I'm still holding on and finally gave up trying to be the "me" I used to be when younger, it's almost as if I am trying to catch and hold on to rain drops instead of relaxing and just let it fall as it's meant to do. Sometimes the bad days make me forget to just go with the flow, accept what is, can't stop the inevitable..
#Ada M. Same here...I really believe we all are benefitting from Ren on so many levels cuz we can relate/understand what he is saying in his lyrics...They are from what he knows, what he has been thru n what he sees around him...The lyrics are storytelling at it's finest...A true bardcore💝
Seeing your hoodie with " ... humble..." on it ... need to react to Ren's "Humble" if you have not done it yet. "Ocean" is also a good one with similar vibe. Appreciate your reaction!
I want to say this is one of my favorites from Ren, but that's true for pretty much all of his music. The man just doesn't make a bad song. Great reaction ❤
Thank you so much for this reaction. What a great song for anyone needing to hear his message of perseverance in the face of adversity and despair. So right that Ren makes you want to keep playing the song even when the video is getting blurry from tears. This was a new one for me and the lyrics just blew me away. Keep up the great work and you have my subscription!
Oh I can understand why. Lol I would do the same. I am going to buy his bundle CD sets and plan to get the others. He is putting some songs for his storytelling songs. Which is so different and I love it. Check out his site.
I feel his pain. Chronic illnesses take so much from us. It’s maddening. It’s a viscous cycle of insomnia, anxiety, depression, pain and the fatigue…. You see every part of the previous you slip away ,? You watch life from the sidelines… I’ve never resonated with an artists message as much as Ren💕
This is one of my favorite songs of Ren’s - on my “Chill Ren” playlist. FYI, just found this. The Big Push full concert Sept 2022: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8ffWxGRUZ0Y.html
So glad you liked this! Even with the depth of content this song has a certain uplifting quality to it. I defy people to not want to sing along. Main riff reminds me of Depeche Mode
@@Clandestined13 You are delusional. You don't know anybody until you meet the person in real life and get to know him or her spending plenty of time with them.
That song has a lot of potential for alternate genres. I hear a hard rock version in my head. I can imagine a country version or a disco version. And that's really cool!
