Not so long ago, I likened Ren to a musical Swiss Army Knife. But, upon hearing more of his music, I have come to the realisation that I was incorrect. He's more like a musical multi-tool. But even that would be an understatement. He's more like the offspring of a multi-tool combined with a Swiss Army Knife AND the infamous "Rambo" knife all rolled into one! Now, can you imagine a collaboration between Ren and Tom McDonald?! Now THAT is a song that I would love to hear! In my humble opinion, it would DEMOLISH the collaboration between Tom and Ben Shapiro!
A few reactors have said Pentatonix is what it reminds them of. Not sure if that is what you might have been feeling but couldn't put your finger on? Always enjoy your Ren reacts! You never know what you are going to get with a Ren song!
My guess is The Beach Boys. It would be pretty hard for someone your age in the US to not have absorbed some of it along the way. My first reaction was "cool Ren must like andcan do The Beach Boys... all of them" Loco doesn't sound like a specific song so much but more the essence of a The Beach Boys doing a cappella.
For some reason I have never understood the “holy like a polo” line until this listen. I get it now. It’s “holy like Apollo”. He just messes with the pronunciation like he usually does. Also great catch on the sounds at the beginning sounding like a “locomotive”. Keeps with the Loco theme.
@@samanthazwickel yes. That too, but that always seemed way too obvious for me, and he’s always got double and triples in his bars, so I have been trying to make sense of it. Also, the line before sets up the “Apollo” double. “Spiritual Being, yes, I’m holy like a polo.” He also intentional spells it “holy” not “holey”. You’re not wrong that it’s a candy and that it definitely is part of the meaning, but the double is there for sure.
